is assasins creed 2 a sequel to the first game?

im not sure.. and i dont really historical adventure games.. i play FPS, action, racing and sports games. do you guys think this will be a good game for me?

it is a sequel to the storyline of the first one, yes. it is set a couple hundred years later.

I read this and thought, "wow, what a dumb question"

but then I thought about it, and had to look at the other results. I own AC1, and after looking at previews, just now realized the new one is in a completely different time period...

but yea, probably that dude will go in the animus and go to a different time i guess...
