Is Assassin's creed a console killer?

I'm talking about the 360 obviously and the one I have is a new one. Bought assassin's creed today and it froze on me 3 or 4 times while playing it for about 3 hours or so. Didn't have any problems at all with cod4 and halo 3 but this is like What the hell? this game is huge and amazing. It should have just come on pc or something. Cause it seems like my brand new 360 can't even handle it. I'm gonna move the console to a new location tomorrow. Pretty much by the window of my room but damn what if the game keeps locking up on me? can it be the hdd? is this game buggy? please help me i'm loving this game. What could the problem be? :?

uhh...It's your 360 man. All new games work properly so there's definitely something wrong with it because mine works good.Strife88

Ya I am going to unplug everything tomorrow and move my 360's location near the window where cold air will keep blowin in it. Hopefully not lots of dust instead.lol But anyway i'm also going to exchange the game in for another new one tomorrow as well cause when I opened up the case today I saw there were spots of dirt on it. Didn't like it and didn't have a good feeling about playing the game and speak of the devil. I had a rough night tonight but still had fun while it wasn't lockin up on me.

I've had it freze about three times. Freezing in games is usually do to the games code and not the hardware. Of course, bad 360's can freeze, but it would do it to all games not just AC. gamer_10001

Yes I expected this game to work with no problems and I was confident it would work fine. Specially since yesterday I was playing cod4 almost the whole day..i'm talkin about playing it on verteran, dying 500 times, respawning at the same checkpoint 30000 time, playing multiplayer with not even one game freeze. So that's why i'm so mad right now wondering if freaking gamestop sold me a messed up assassin's creed disk. I don't know we'll see what happens maybe my console just got used to me playing first person shooters. lol.

Have you scratched the disc at all? Did it come with any marks, rings or scratches? Otherwise it's your xboxjudge__judy

Ya it had a few white spots on the cd when I opened up the case and a few of those wavy looking marks on it as well. I'm going to war with gamestop tomorrow. I had this same problem with oblivion as far as the game freezing up on me alot and always thought it was the game cause I was a 360 noob(still am) but at that time it turned out that it was my 360 just getting hot and the game would freeze. Well this new 360 I got now does not get hot. Only the back and that's normal. So I will continue to be a noob and blame gamestop for sellin me a messed up disk. 8)

I had the same problem with the new madden. I checked the disc out and there were no scratches whatsoever, but my other games were working fine. I took the game back and got another copy and the new copy worked perfect. I would say it is likely the disc. I thought my xbox was dying as well, but I haven't had a single incident since madden and I got the game the day it came out. I also beat ac and had no problems whatsoever.tylerdurden2621

Oh well that's good to hear then dude. Cause my new 360 is amazing. The thing keeps itself cool, is quiet and has an hdmi port which i'm using ofcourse with an hdmi cable. Ya i'm hopeing I have the same experience as you. Do you think I should still remove the position of my 360 then and put it near the window? cause it was fine till today when I played AC.

my AC copy works really smoothly, no problems here :D

and btw, AC is a beutiful looking and massive game, but i dont think its pushing the 360 to its limits

Does the same thing to PS3's my friend was on the 5th memory block when it locked up. after he booted his PS3 back up all his saved games for AC was just gone.

Not to be mean but i'm glad to hear the ps3 version is having problems as well. Thought us 360 owners were cursed but if the ps3 version is having problems also then I gotta say this game is to much. Well going to gamestop now to trade it in for a new one, lets see how they'll treat their good customer.
