Still haven't picked this one up.
I notice its no longer on Major Nelson's top 10 activity list...
Are people still playing this online a lot, or has it died down considerably...
I don't want to pick it up and all of a sudden its dead in 2 weeks.

Ya I am pretty sure I am gonna pick it up along with Far Cry 2... I am pretty sure Far Cry 2 is basically dead, but I just love to explore open worlds... Thanks DukeNOD_GrindkingNo problem, I own Far Cry 2 as well though, and it's not really dead either. There's certainly not as many people playing as CoD or Halo, but it's not hard to find a game at all.

Is Far Cry 2's story interesting enough to keep my interest? In the reviews I have read/watched, they mention the story to be very flat, yet its 30 hours long...seems to me that 30 hours of boring story would probably lose my interest...but the world and look of the game intrigues me. I played it once for about an hour and enjoyed it...
*edit*
Also, in regards to the BF BC Campaign...I understand it's not the greatest, since the BF series has never really been about the Single Player experience...but it is at least decent enough to play through? Or is it totally mindless and plotless?
Thanks for the help guys.

I found the story to be pretty interesting with alot of twists and turns, but it wasnt exactly the best ever. Definitley a must buy game though.Ok so far cry 2's muiltplayer is horrible but the single player isnt to bad. The only reason its 30 hours long is because it takes forvever to get places seriously it pissed me off and then i got a glitch that wouldnt let me play any missions and i just lost my will to play.
BF BC is amazing the large scale battles are awesome and the single player i found hilarious at times great game for how much it is for sure.

the main community in it isnt dead, but if you want to host a game in that custom maps section that is pretty dead.
oh, and other than a few of the really weird modes my friends says BC isnt dead really at all.
Hey NOD_Grindking, like you said to me in the other topic PLEASE! ~use the recomendation sticky~THANKS! lol No really, BF:BC's gameplay was fantastic to me. Not overpopulated, but like people said, it's easy to find good Ranked games (it's where you wanna play anyway, the game is much more fun, and you can get in game awards [guns/level up] and achievements only by playing ranked). Far Cry 2's multiplayer is good too, but the real thing about it was trying the new maps. For it's single player campaign, it's pretty awesome, long and enjoyable the first time through. The story isn't great, but it's ok enough to see it through, specially when you reach half way through the game. Just keep in mind, you won't go really far in FC2 until you get used to it's gameplay, it's one of the hardest shooters out there.paulokoenigkamHaha ya I knew this was coming...I was just waiting for ya ;)
And yes, your thread the other day was valid, I was just pissy cuz there was 99 other THIS GAME OR THAT GAME threads....I apologize.

Bro...I've been shopping out of the bargain-ben lately myself!! lol...with my country about to go bankrupt I haveto be "VERY" selective with my cash!!!:P
I understand what your saying, but this is EXACTLY what guys use to say with ArmA for PC....we use to play Americas Army for PC and I couldn't tell you how many guys would be going...'just you wait, ArmA will blow you out of the water'......well it didn't. I hope its a different case this time around however....because OP FP was an amazing PC Game. You might want to wait and get Operation Flashpoint or ARMA II. It will make BC look like a elementary school yard in comparison to the enormous maps that OP FP and ARMA will offer. Bad Company is still my game of choice, but won't be once Op FP arrives.

reading all these comments makes me think i should pick it up as well. I prolly won't play the multiplayer much but is the single played mode alone worth the purchase?
buy the game. no need to discuss itihaveabuDone and Done....ending up getting it used for 10 bucks :D Awesome Deal!!!
My problem has always been with the hit detection. Sometimes you have to unload an entire clip into an enemy to drop them. This was also a problem in Modern Combat.EnderSR388Ya, the first multiplayer match I got into, I mistakingly thought it was laggy, because I was just dumping clips into guys....then after my 3rd or 4th match I realized that it must be hit detection....Still very fun though, extremely chaotic in multiplayer at times with all the explosions and vehicles... which makes me feel somewhat uncomfortable as far as enemies being all around me, which never happens in the Call of Duty series...

Honestly, I like that style of play. It keeps people who want to fight moving, instead of 3 guys camping a corner. Knowing that the heli that just flew over head had real people in it and not some pin point accurate A.I. *cough*COD4*cough* is awesome! :P I also like the solitariness of sniping in BF games in general. Being able to flank around the outside of the map and fringe snipe without the enemy drawing a bead is fun and takes skill. Sniping is also much more difficult in BF:BC since you have to gauge the shot, unlike other games where you just put the dot on what you want to kill and squeeze. Real bullets have drop and velocity and the BF games get that.
I also like the depth the maps offer. I mean depth as in a sense of battle. There's always skimishes going on in the distance. Tanks speeding by on their way to battle. Heli screaming overhead. Other games, like COD, feel like you're in this little level fighting. It still feels like Quake or something. I'd like to see a game like COD4 on the scale of BF:BC now that would be awesome!
