is being a 360 gamer NERDY?

the media is making it seem like it is a very nerdy thing to take part in. because of the media,the people believe it as well because the people that believe it dont have minds of their own and cant think for themselves. of course if you play the 360 ALL the time 24/7 its getting obsessive and w/e. if it IS considered being "nerdy" then consider me a nerd.

Two things vary whether your a 360 nerd or not

1. The duration you play it, so if you play Xbox 360 over 4 hours a day then of course your nerdyThe way you take it seriosly.
2. If you're worked up over someone who is new and doesn't know what they're doing, or get mad because you got owned, then you are defidently a nerd.

Sure, when I was in Japan I was considered "hardcore" for owning a Microsoft based platform, but that was just because Nintendo and Sony rule over there. I explained how the market was completely different in the states, and that in most cases (not all) I prefered Western (D&D style) RPG's and that the PC and xbox had more that I liked in terms of games overall.

I don't think one consol or system is better than the rest, and believe that each system has great games only available on that specific system.

Since I came back to the states though, I never once heard the media portray 360 gamers as "nerdy"... In fact, from my observatons, it's been quite the opposite. All you need to do is walk into your nearest gameshop, and see that the people they serve are from all walks of life. Quite a different picture from even 5, 10 years ago.

I might even go so far as to say, while not system specific, those who don't play games are outside the norm.

Most people will look at those with superior intelligence as being nerds. So someone is a nerd to someone else depending on where they and the person considering them for such a designation fall in on the IQ scale. X360 FTW

This guys pretty close to the truth. WoW was nerdy to me, no offense to anyone...but people dedicate their life, they roleplay...I just can't stand that game.

And yea, the forum doesn't help either. I just post at work, I'm sure most of you post during work/school, but if you care what people are doing or saying in off hours when you could be actually playing a game, than you might be in trouble.

There's nothing wrong with playing Xbox, all of the coolest people I hang out with play games. We play Madden/CoD4 even Halo sometimes. It's like a standard for guys, Sunday we drink, play games and watch football.

I agree...Sometimes when I get home from work and im not tired..Ill play till i get a lil more tired..which doesnt take too long..

Theres times im so wiped out..I dont even boot the system for a whole damn week....

Ultimately, all that matters is that you are happy with what you do; just because most of us on this site enjoy playing videogames. We are on this site because we like to discuss videogames with others who enjoy them like we do. If people dont like it then SCREW THEM, maybe they should go find something that they can be happy doing lol

i personally think that what makes you a nerd is how long you spend playing your system.you dont have to own a certain system to be a nerd.its how long you play it.if your one of those people that have no social life and come home and play for 18 hours then your a nerd and pathetic.or your one of those kids who invites 8 of your nerd friends to come over and play dungeons and dragons.i probrably play around 8 hours a week. i cant sit that long and play games.
