Is Bioshock a "10"

Normally I would say thats impossible but given Gamespots new rating system the question is now valid.

Bioshock is easily a 9.0 and probably a 9.5 title. I have read all the previews and seen the awards. This is guaranteed AAA.

But do you think it has a chance at being a "10"?

As good as it looks and as good as it would be to hear, I doubt it will get a 10. Maybe a high 9 but not a 10.capthavic

Depends on who reviews it. One of my favorite games, Jade Empire received 9.9 on ign but only 8.4 here on gamespot.

Im going to boldly predict 10. Assuming that a 9.7 or higher is now a 10. Bioshock has enough for no lower than 9.5.

Neither game is overhyped, get over it. Both will be AAA, guaranteed. Actually Bioshock has already been certified AAA.

Knowing Gamespit, um probably a 1.5, eventhough it deserves a 9 or 9.5 :P

what is a AAA game? i have seen this all over but are there like requirements or just another way of saying its a good game.

i don't think bioshock will get a 10.

That's irrelevant. What is relevant is that Gamespot hasn't given out a single 10 in about five years. If Bioshock gets a 10 (which I seriously doubt) we should all be VERY impressed.

I think it'll be a 9 or 9.5 but not a 10. Personally I think Mass Effect will be the only "10" released this year.

We'll see when the games are released though and we actually get to play them. :)

Usually games tend to be really good if they the Developers focus mainly on Single-Player, I mean just look at the first Halo, awesome Story to it, and it didn't have Xbox Live. Also take a look at Elder Scrolls Series, Final Fantasy Series, GTA Series, etc. There are some games that have Multiplayer and Single-Player and the Multi-Player isn't that great but the Single-Player holds up the game to be good, like The Darkness. It's kind of hard to find a game with a great story and a great multiplayer. Halo 2 only achieved the great multiplayer part but kind of failed in the story. Sometimes though there are games with both good story and multiplayer.

Seeing how BioShock is mainly focused on Single-Player the game will have a high chance of recieving a good score, in my opinion I think it will get a 9.0, but seeing how Gamespot tends to be harsh on reviews, sometimes depending on who is the one who reviews it, mabye Gamespot will give BioShock a 8.5. Also Mass Effect looks great and I think itcan get a 10.
