My dad wont let me buy crackdown because it is a 'extremely violent game'with a 15 rating and if u look on the back of star trek legacy oh look! it says 'violent game' STARTREK! wat has britain come to... cod 3 yes thats violent but my dad'll let me have that, Gears of war im allowed that but why not CRACKDOWN!

Yes we do; pistols, revolvers, rifles and carbines, but only by authorised police officers known as AFOs. Less than 10% are AFOs in Scotland, but there's alot more in England and Wales.

Pretty much all UK police can carry those long batons and CS spray, but Scottish police are calling for those taser guns for all officers due to the rise in gun crime in Scotland.

And how is Britain soft? If you go to Scotland with an England footy jersey on...youre f*cked and up the creek without a paddle. A little boy and his father from New Zealand did this and got beat up. Well all that history with the IRA and British rule... it was split for a reason. But there was probably more to it than that. I don't know alot about it, but I do know that the stronger Ireland (population wise) is independent.

2 years ago when I was 12 I wasn't allowed Splinter Cell 1... Now I'm allowed anything up to a 16, and I'll laugh when my mum sees me playing double agent. ;)

Nice too see alot of anti-Brits posting in here. It's amazing how as soon as someone so much as mentions a country in a thread it ends up turning into an anti-German, anti-Canadian, anti-French anti-Britian or anti-Europe debate. It truly is amazing how far some people manage to stick their own heads up their own backsides.

But getting back onto the topic. It seems odd that your Dad would let you play CoD3 but not Crackdown. Crackdown may actually be quite violent but it's all rendered in a very exagerrated cartoony over the top way. Seems a little hypocritical to me. But one parents choices about what they allow their child to see, read, watch or play doesn't have anything to do with an entire country being "Soft" or not. I'm a Brit and my parents never stopped me from watching anything. I watched Aliens when I was 9. Gave me nightamares for a week and was convinced that there was a face hugger living on top of my cupboard just waiting to get me, but thats beside the point.

No, whats annoying is that when someone mentions Britain the people who seem to bash are Americans for no reason at all, not every American thinks this way thank God and the majority are cool, but every time you mention Europe or Britain in particular you get a crap load of negaitive comments from a lot of American users, its getting extremely annoying. That kind of comment is just as bad as the anti-Europe etc comments made by people. Although alot of the ignorant morons on this forum seem to do their best to give the rest of the world the impression that America is filled with nothing but patriotic apathetic idiots I thankfully know alot of American people who aren't any of the former.
