Is bungie really this desperate?

Halo 3 is by far my favourite game ever there was alot of creativity with forge and theater and brought the genre to life.
People who hate halo usually stink at it. I Never play cod4 and i can still get on average 20-25 kills a game

To tell the honest truth, I really don't care. I'm mostly playing custom games with friends and barely get on matchmaking anymore. Plus, I really don't care about rank in Halo 3. It's not like CoD4 where you get things like new classes and new stuff for custom classes when you rank up, it's just a higher number with a different design to the medal.

Is Bungie getting desperate with Double EXP weekend? No, but making Team SWAT into a normal matchmaking game and the removal of Grifball is making it not as fun as it once was (I'm sorry, but I hate Living Dead).

It's not really desperate since the first few double xp weekends were to test their ability to have weekend playlists and tournaments. And they've been opening the double xp playlists on Thursday at least since the playlists have been weekly. I did not play them much before that, so I can not confirm when the playlists were up on the early ones. I think they also go until 2am on Monday morning which is not technically the weekend (especially for European players). But is that any different from COD4 having a double xp weekend that lasts 4 days? Sure it is not every weekend, but I wouldn't say that either are desperate for players.

I think there are other motivations besides desparation that might have prompted this course of action.Palantas

I love Halo, but I spent every second of my life playing Halo 2 from Xlink, to Xbox Live and I got burnt out. I played up to level 45 on halo3 and just stopped. Gamertag: upside27

Are you serious... Have you even logged in??? The numbers on the server have never dropped below 200k during the weekends and at night the amount of people you see playing is staggering... Do keep in mind... People have lives... You can't expect the servers to be full 24/7 But if you look at the map the entire east coast of the US is ALWAYS lit... Which I find honestly amazing...

I own every major X360 (GTA4, COD4, MassEffect... Ect ect...) and yet I always find myself back in the Halo world... Is it the fun?? Is the achievements??? No! People just love competition... and the online multiplayer for Halo is just that... Pure competition... beating and teabagging for online supremacy! (Jk on that last part LOL)

As for the 2x Xp weekends... I honestly think they're there for the asses who decided to make new accounts and so the can cheaply reach the XP they need... after reaching their desired Skill Lvl... 'cause really doubt people Love Griffball or Team Swat that much... :SVegA_

I found it funny that people were selling their general accounts so they can start a new one.

After reading a few responses to this thread... I've realized how pointless this whole deal really is...

I mean don't get me wrong... kudos to the dude who started it... But think about it... We're having a discussion about some game developers giving us variety... I mean... wasn't as of yesterday variety "GOOD"???

I think the first few weeks where out of desperation when CoD4 first took the lead. I think after that they realised their fanbase really enjoyed it and people just became accustome to seeing a new gametype as double XP every weekend that it became their standard.

Think about it this way. If by adding a double XP gimmick you get say 100 more people to buy Halo 3 or keep 100 people from selling it so the next person who wants halo needs to buy new instead of used and you end up with a lot of extra ca$h would it be worth it?The_360_Ghost

The game really let me down!

campaign was really short,story was lacking,online wow bored in a week.

I played campaign for a month co op and single,but after that?it get left in the dark

and i also average 20 to 25 kills on halo im a natural at shooters.

I played halo 3 about 3weeks ago for about 30mins before i got bored:(

And every game i just owned 20to25k,and before that day i hadn't touched halo in 4 to 5 months

no few month ago they said there xp system wasnt working as planed so they started double xp so ya

and every weeken its differncet so its not like same thing over and over

and if put double xp to bring back people not a good plan buddy if you think about it. because people who dont play much halo no more can care less about there rank on there

if bungie wanted to they could stop at anytime updating halo. from the begining when it was released they could stop working on it but they didnt like most companys they just sell there new game and have the whole team start working on new game so you should be happy

you say you hate halo's storyline cause it's lacking, did you even watch the cutsceans, this is a shooter the story is in the cutsceans, not the gameplay like an rpg

not everyone is a power hungry cash craving cold hearted business man like me, some people put there sweat and blood into this game and might want it to continue being popular and fun

well, i haven't been playin it much myself, i think they are despret but they should do some marathon remixes now i think, give marathon a whole new modern fully 3d halo like game i'd think that would be awsome you know like what id did with doom
