Since 2001, Bungie has done nothing but Halo. After they wrapped up the Halo trilogy, guess what's next? A Halo spinoff! Would anyone else like to see Bungie work on a new IP? Maybe something that isn't an fps.

I like the Halo universe, so it's not a problem for me. I hope the Chief is around forever, at least one new outing per every new XBox console. But I'm pretty sure that Halo Reach is the last Halo game Bungie is going to have a hand in, fora fewyears at least. There are still some other Halo games in the works - there was supposed to be some online one in the works, and Peter Jackson is directing a Halo movie, and with Microsoft making a handheld system, there just has to be a traditional Halo game for that.
There going the Kojima route... I'm sure they will want to move on at some point and make some new IP. Even bring back an older IP. I'd imagine it gets pretty old working on the same series over and over.
Ahw man did it? Well...that's okay, I'm not a fan of Peter Jackson anyway. If they are going to make a Halo movie, I want friggin Jerry Bruckheimer or Steven Spielburg or whatever at the helm, someone good like him. Just my opinion.Actually the Peter Jackson thing got canned :(

They did say however that a lot of stuff from District 9 "came from the ashes of the Halo movie". I read all this on G4tv.com during Comic-con. You could probably find more info if you google it. I feel like they said they might revive the project when its more financially sound or something to that effect. Can't remember for sure.
Bungie, alongside Reach and ODST, are also working on a new project, which is a new IP. So, no, they're not stuck on a Halo rut. In fact, they just recently declared that Reach is officially their last Halo game.

I could have swore I heard that Reach will just be the last one "for the 360"... Just what I think I remember though...
You know when I first saw the commercial for that, my first reaction was, "Whoah, is that thing an Elite?" I seriously thought I was seeing a trailer for the Halo movie - it was by Peter Jackson after all. But then I was like "District 9????" and uh...yeah...Interesting though. They did say however that a lot of stuff rom District 9 "came from the ashes of the Halo movie". That's a pretty good "rut" to be stuck in, eh? ODST and Reach are the last Halo titles by Bungie. MS's internal 343 Studios (headed by members of Bungie, Kojima Productions, etc) will be taking over at that point. I expect Bungie to be back after a good 3-4 years, though. A Halo 4 launch with the next Xbox is likely.

Why would you even put Jerry Bruckheimer and Spielberg in the same sentence? One is a director, one isn't.
I doubt Reach is the last of Halo, but they stated that they are working on a new IP, so they are doing something other than Halo.enterawesomeReach is THEIR last Halo game.
considering I'm a big fan of the series as well as millions of others...I'm glad they gave me the Halo sequels. Looking forward to ODST and Halo: Reach too...why does it matter to you what a developer works on?

Take a look at Dynast Warriors, Madden, and Tony Hawk. Making the same game every year isn't good for anyone.

Well, going by that logic. I guess Call of Duty isn't good for anyone.[QUOTE="BLAS1AN"]

each halo sequel had enough significant upgrades to warrant a purchase..too many to name. bungie did way more than the dynasty warriors developers. 5 halo games in 9 year span is not every year like the tiitles you mentioned. Nintendo makes a mario related game every month
Bungie said Halo:Reach is going to be their last Halo game. We'll see what they've got in store after that.
I wouldn't call it a "rut" when the franchise is still selling like crazy. Now the guys that make Dynasty Warriors need to get a clue. (I'm sure I just stepped on someone's toes, but the internet is full of opinions.)
Bungie is working on a new IP and is currently looking for a publisher. Halo Reach will be the last of Halo from Bungie. Or at least for a while. But it's not like Bungie's a special case. All Infinity Ward does is make Call of Duty games. All Kojima studios does is make Metal Gear. All Gamefreak does is make Pokemon.
