Is Cod4 as good as everyone says?

I've heard some great things bout this game but that was only from two friends so I want more opinions befoore I buy it.

its def a must buy its good single player and amazing online since it came out i havent got off it upto about 8 days on it now

If you have played the previous COD games, then COD4 is just kind of mediocre. If you are new to it, well then I don't know. Personally I thought it was forgettable.

Multiplayer is great also. What could be better than killing 10 year olds who won't shut up about school and killing gangster wannabe's that use the N word like it's going out of style.

Get familiar with how to mute players if you go online. And if you're one of the people who lets their children play this violent game with more profanity in multiplayer than non-cuss words, then shame on you.

its really not, its a game thats paralell with what came out at the same time. Its a war fanatics wet dream, but if u dont like war games and like more fiction gameing then its not that great. I still say rent it and try it out but i think it looks nice but its not that fun. Multiplayer game modes are kinda lame but thats just me i like king of the hill and oddball in halo. Its more my cup of tea but hey you should give it a shot i did had a day or two of fun and 770 achivement points off it. its well worth the rent and if you love it i think its on sale for 10 bucks off whcih covers the rental.

online play is good, but i really like story so this hurts it...i chose to buy orange box over it and i still havent played it....i like gerars of war and tf2 online, but is the online in this that much better?

and is there co op? thats a huge factor for me

Campaign was good, although short.

Multiplayer was awesome for like a month, now it has become a grenade/SMG/Juggernaut war.

Everyone uses the same guns, and the same strategies/the same perks.

Really lame.
