Hey guys. just asking you if connecting the 360 online even for xbox live silver is worth it and makes it a much more entertaining experience. I have my xbox on the top floor of my house and my modem is on the bottom floor. So either I have to set up down there (which is a major plain) or buy the highly overpriced wireless connector. sigh. So it would be great if i could get good feedback regarding my problem. Thanks

Yes, its worth it because of the demos and vids you can find in the marketplace. Regarding the wireless adapter, you dont have to buy the MS one, I've heard some USB wireless adapters are compatible with the 360. Do some research and you'll probably find a less expensive and tiring way to get your 360 online.

There are other ones that work, but not as well. I have a Netgear adapter hat I originally bought for the first Xbox. It works... but for some stupid reason it won't connect when I turn the console on. I have to turn on the 360, then either do a connection test or wait like 5 minutes then it'll connect no problem. Also, I get a horrible connection at times... but I'm not sure if the official wireless adapter would solve that or not.

Demo's and DLC are good - but I don't know if its worth the price of the wireless adapter. it is overpriced and eithernet>wireless.

10 or 15 metres of Cat5 cable is cheap as chips and the connection will be more stable too.

EDIT: With the spare change? Get yourself a year on XBox Live Gold.

think of it this way, most games you can play online are totally different to the campain side of the game. if you dont play online. then you only see one half of the game. have the gold and can play online its often like having a second game to play very much worht it or you loosing out on 50-60% of most games you buy
