I did not really like it. It was the only good rental I could find at blockbuster. It's too repetitive. Plus I'm not too big of a rap/hip-hop fan really. But if you like fighting games and rap then you might have a ball with the game.

You don't have to be into rap to enjoy this game.... The game will play the same with any of your own songs through custom soundtracks...
noooo do not get this...mayb rent it first but it was a very short game...halfway through the story just crumbles..u start out in a crappy apartmment, then move to a penthouse..then somhow u end up living on the streets...i loved the first two def jams but this game was just total crap
Yeah stay away from this one if you love the first two. The air DJ controls are a joke. Also the fighting has no depth at all. Plus it focuses mostly on today's mainstream rap which is really bad. Unlike Fight for NY which had some Old School in it. I only played the game just to beat up Young Jeezy and Lil Jon.
