I actually really like this game and series. I recommend it to anyone who likes racing games. It's a little tough at first since the cars feel like they have no weight but that's what makes it fun flinging it around corners and such.
i love codemasters' racing games, but without online multiplayer i get bored of racing games fast so i'm just going to rent it, if my local blockbuster ever has it in.
Dirt is wroth the moey IMO. I picked it up when it was released and was instantly impressed. I actually prefer Dirt more than Forza. I have never been a big Forza/PGR fan (give me Burnout and I am happy). The graphics is Dirt are great. the gameplay while it takes a little getting used are good. Yes there is some question as to how the cars handle, but the amount of adjustments that you can make is amazing and sometimes can be overwhelming.
There is also a fair amount of replay value to the game.Peoplel ike myself who tend to not play many racings games can start out at an amatuer racing level and onceyou get comfortabel then jumpup the apro level of competition. This is nice because it allows you to adjust to the game over time. Also the career mode is quite lengthy and fun. Also havingonline play helps. I have yet to test out the online area as I am still trying to get used to thegame, but I can only image that itis good as well.
If you're a fan of Codemasters Racing Games, then just wait for the next TOCA game. Other than that DiRT has solid single player, but absolute POOH multiplayer(Live).
Let Forza 2 Babysit your racing needs for the time being.
yes dirt is an awesome game ive beat it and im waiting for my xbox to get repaired so that i can finish up on it. its really fun but its not like forza. its totally arcade like and there are tons of cars and different types of races and lots of variety with a very exstensive career mode. i have yet to play online but ive heard you dont actually race against your oppenents side by side but rather you all race the same track individually and whoever gets the best time wins.
If you like racing games you will like this one. Great graphics and racing. And yes the menu is one of the best I've seen in a racing game. Just remember it's a Rally game so you will be racing alone on many of the racing. I've been playing this game for over a week now and it's alot of fun and addictive.
