Alrighty, I was a fan of the original Fable, but not the second. With the gamespot rating of 6.0 it makes me feel like the third will be a let down again. Has anyone bought and really enjoyed the game enough to recommend playing it? What are the ups and downs, is it worth the money?

Thanks

It's like Fable 2 with some improvements and a few dumbed down features that seem curious. But it's great... I'm loving it. I liked 2 but not part 1, though.

It's actually really fun, one of the first games I bought for my new 360. Has it's issues, but honestly, it's a game that's has a great identity.

I was a big fan of 1 and 2. But this one is so glitched out (serious framerate issues) and the combat from Fable 2 that was simplistic yet fun (imo) is dumbed down and not near as fleshed out. The story is a lot worse. Being king is fun though. The revolution to become king could have been a lot better. It is bigger and the items and secrets r harder to find. I would rent or wait for a price drop if I were u.

Fable III is a lot like II with simplified combat and a worse expression system, but nicer graphics. I actually like the story in III better than II, though. I still had a lot of fun playing it. But it has some serious glitches at the moment. I played through the main story with only minor issues, but while I was trying to collect everything my game glitched out and I can't even play with my main character anymore and it is just not worth starting a new game. I only rented the game, though, to see if I liked it enough to buy it. So I'm going to wait until it is cheaper and a patch is released to fix the bugs to buy it.

The Gamespot score is actually a 7.5 and not a 6.0, but that doesn't matter anyway, since the score in no way reflects whether you will like the game or not. I would not pay full price for it, but I rarely pay full price for a game. No one can say for certain whether you will think the game is worth the money or not.

Yeah it is worth the money. I haven't got the chance to play the multiplayer yet, but that looks great.

Just to add onto everyone elses reasons, the co-op is great. If you're looking for a good game to play with a friend, I would highly suggest Fable 3. (Not split-screen)

It's got great potential to be great, but honestly, wait for a patch before playing.

I bought fable 3 on the release date, loved fable and rather enjoyed fable 2 but the third, not so much. It just feels alot less compared to the other two, the story was quite enjoyable to play through and had some nice touches, but it must have taken all of 4 hours as i finished it the same afternoon. It crashed for me about 5 times which was tedious, the world is georgous to look at and travel through but after completing the main story i didnt have the urge to delve back into it like i did the other games, the co op is a nice touch and added a little playability - but still, i traded it back in within it's first week of release, shame really.

If your tempted in purchasing, rent it first and you'll see what most are talking about.
