Is Far Cry 3 worth it just for single player?

I don't have Xbox Live Gold so I dont play online. For online heavy games I would get them for the PS3. Now that Far Cry 3 is on sale for $20, is it worth it just for the single player? Now I know most people would jump to a resounding yes but I normally buy single player games long after their release so that I can get them preowned very cheap, for example I got Forza 3 for GBP 3 used. So do you think the preowned price of FC3 will go down significantly further eventually? Or not and its worth getting it now for $20 jsut for single player. I dont mind waiting.

I'm a single player only gamer, and I thought Far Cry 3 was totally worth it.

Huge island to explore.  Long, deep story.  Great gameplay that supports both run and gun as well as stealth (the approach I took).  Lots of stuff to do on the side (hunting, crafting, assassinations, trials, etc.).  No shortage of enjoyable content in this game.

Was worth it at the price I paid ($50, PC), so for the low sale price it's an absolute steal, IMO.

Ah thanks for the replies. I dont have a PC gaming rig and cant really spend too much on gaming. I'm wondering if the price will go down for a physical copy later on since $20 is a bit steep for me. I cant even sell the game to anyone once I am done. I got Max Payne 3's physical copy for like $16 so when I sell it I should be able to get at least $6 for it which would mean I played the game for $10 which is a reasonable price for a good single player for me. For FC3 its $20 straight up no resells.

Was wondering the same thing myself. I found Far Cry 2 boring after 2-3 hours and dont know if Far Cry 3 would turn the same.

^Nah FC3 is supposed to be much better.

If you take a game in the CoD series then just the single player is definitely not worth $20 because the bulk of the games value lies in its multiplayer as its primarily a multiplayer game. Is FC3 primarily a single player game with just decent multiplayer modes thrown in? Would I be missing a lot by not playing online?

I decided against getting it. Its a relatively new game, chances are it will come down in price later on, especially once the next gen consoles come out. I'll then get it preowned.

Will downloadable version of Far Cry 3 come with the co-op mp?
