Is Gears of War 3 coming?

I was surfing a bit on the internet and i came across a couple articles when i typed in gears of war 3, i stepped onto a german one which translated basically says that the people at EPIC Games are already in the production for Gears of War 3, the game engine will be worked over in a lot of details, will contain a co-op for up to 5 people and that they already have set a date to Fall 2010.

The last thing it says is that the game will be the last and ends in a trilogy.

I do not know if this is true but might aswell search the net for a bit of info if you can =) This article was made in december 08 so there might be more information to it now.

No official announcement but given the sales of the first two and the storyline threads not tied up, it seems impossible for there NOT to be a sequel.

There's a lot of rumors floating around, including a recent one that says there will be female COGs in the next game. I'm almost sure we'll be seeing this game in polished form by E3 2010.

of course its coming probably holiday season in 2010 that would be a good time because gears 2 would have had a 2 year run by then nd we havent heard anything about yet but i wouldnt be suprised if the beefed up co op to at least 4 people.

Hmm. I also just read about that female thing. IGN has made a profile for it atm, so personally i hope there will be a gears 3 but im prepared to be disapointed if they dont. The ign thing doesnt have a lot of info though, sadly. Found a tiny bit on GameSpy too. Guess we have to wait and see =P

And also, when you beat the game. Dizzy at the end say's " what have you done" or something along those lines. So, it's pretty obvious that GoW3 is coming out. But, what they need to do is fix the lag the GoW 2 had. Fix the "host" issue and add in some dedicated servers or something. Or if not, beef up the shotty so people have a chance when fighting host.

And also, when you beat the game. Dizzy at the end say's " what have you done" or something along those lines. So, it's pretty obvious that GoW3 is coming out. But, what they need to do is fix the lag the GoW 2 had. Fix the "host" issue and add in some dedicated servers or something. Or if not, beef up the shotty so people have a chance when fighting host.

when gears of war 1 first came out epic said they could see the series being more then just a trilogy so if that was their mindset after only the first one there will def. be a 3rd one a 4th one maybe a 5th? 2pac_makaveli

I'm sure there'll be a Gears 3 eventually. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if they made more Gears shooters than just the trilogy. There'll be spinoffs and so forth, like Halo and pretty much every other big shooter franchise.

If I know how simple the Carmine's first names are, the 3rd Carmine will be something like Cameron or Caesar Carmine. Think about it.

Switzerland doesnt sell comics *suchs as spiderman and all those marvels and stuff* so i doubt that gears would be here too. Movie? When will that come out? I would enjoy prequals though.

I don't think it'll be Gears 3. I'm fairly sure I heard (might be a rumour) that CliffyB won't be releasing Gears 3 until the next generation of consoles. Therefore I'm inclined to believe it'll be a Gears prequel of some sort. There's even two or three females COGs in the book Aspho Fields so I wouldn't be suprised if it was based around that. Gears 3 is going to happen, but don't hold your hopes up for a 2010 release. EPIC will probably want to experiment and polish the game throughly to avoid a Gears 2 esque release. And MS will probably not want to flood the 2010 holidays. Halo Reach, Fable 3, Crackdown 2 (maybe), and Natal with all of its games and dashboard updates should be enough major exculsives in that period. They'll hold Gears back for 2011. But who knows, we may get a public beta in 2010....
