I love how everyone says "No" when it's 100% clear that the ESRB has a hard-on for Rockstar. I wouldn't put anything past the ESRB at this point.ColoradoKindBud
it could get an AO rating at first... but R* won't release the game until they change the content and it gets an M rating.
[QUOTE="Mr_Abandon"]isnt R* realseing manhunt 2 as AO?c0mplex
nope. they are changing its content and getting the ESRB to change its rating.
Says who? Show me one piece of concrete proof that shows that they are changing the content to get an M rating. They stated that it would cost in excess of $1,000,000 to edit Manhunt2 & it may never happen.
no it won't... R* will never release an AO game.c0mplex
Yea, take Manhunt 2 for example...
Anyway, as long as there is no hot coffee brewing, then there aint gonna be an AO tacked onto the game.

Last time I checked that wasn't released, and Rockstar is going to tone it down to M....
GTA SA got AO and it was released its still in stock at the wherehouse! by as for GTA no way they shouldn't, couldn't, wouldn't after losing all this money to change Manhunt 2.
Did Manhunt sell well? i see a lot of used copies at gamestop...

Yes but SA got that rating after it had already been released to the public. If anyone had known about the "Hot Coffee" mod beforehand, it wouldn't have been released as such.
no, i dont think so. the only game im worried about getting an AO is Bioshock, but i sure hope not.zaman48
Nah, the only reason it might get it is because of killing the little sisters. And when you actually choose to kill them, you kill them off screen so it's all good.

Even if you saw it, I doubt it'd be rated AO. In Deus Ex: IW you could kill school kicks anyway you wanted, heck, you could play basketball with their bodies. But I didn't kill them, I was a good guy. Also, because I had no ammo, and didn't want to get killed.if it is where can you buy AO games?Mr_Abandon
First off, no consoles allow AO rated games as of right now(hopefully that will change).
Secondly, I would say that the chances of GTA IV getting an AO rating are pretty good because the game has been in production for a while and this whole thing with the ratings board cracking down is not a good sign.
I ask myself. If Manhunt 2 is to much, than where exactly do they draw the line?
Not to mention Rockstar games has officially been targeted by the ratings board.
Why the console makers cant just allow AO rated games and have the clerks just keep them behind the counter with no advertisements is beyond me.
Hell, if we allowed an AO rating maybe parents would realize that some of these games are not for children.
It would be like "Johnny, would you like to go to the store and get some porn so you can have something to do this weekend".
It seems that the ESRB is getting more strict of what they will allow in a M rated game.
So again I would ask "where do they draw the line"?
The answer is, we dont really know.
If this game gets an AO,I would think Rockstar would have to get the attorneys involved to protect there rights and our rights as gamers as well.
No it won't. It's no where NEAR as violent as manhunt 2 and is mixed with humour not just pure death.darklord888
ESRB's rating dont make sense at times, I mean look at all those movies like SAW 1-2-3 those are rated R. I dont think ratings should enterily be up toESRB there should be ar least 3 companies rating games. Plus there is only 1 year between M and AO. Games get more and more violent as graphics improve because of the realism; sooner or later most of our currently known as M games will have the potential (as their sequels improve the graphics)of being AO rated games. A super realistic graphics wise God of War game will defenetly have to get rated AO according to ESRB's current criteria. This has got to change.latiii12
Eventually the console makers will have to change there rules for AO titles or we will se a new gaming console which does allow AO and everyone else will lose lots of money.
Violent games is big business!
Money will be the deciding factor as it always has.
