You'll get a much better Single-Player experience from Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, Half Life 2 Episode 2, and Portal, rather than the single player in Halo. But you'll get a better multiplayer experience from Halo rather than Team Fortress 2 because of all the dissconnecting and the such. But The Orange Box will last you longer and its my first 10/10 at AceGamez.
a great shooter...with portal and those other things inside the same box > an average shooter who reviewers seem to have gotten a gold encrusted copy sent from god himself to review.
All those people who complain about lagging must have crappy connections or their hosts does because I have not had a single problem.
I would definately go with Orange Box. I bought Halo3 and then realized I played this exact same game when Halo2 came out... and sadly Halo2's multiplayer was better.
I want the Orange Box, but I don't have XBox Live (not due to lack of money but technical issues). So I'm getting it for the PS3, which I can play online with.
Halo 3 is merely worth renting to beat. However, if you do have Xbox Live or 3 friends, 4 controllers and a big TV, also very worth owning.

I don't have a crappy connection. It would most likley have to deal with the hosts..
