Yes, Peter Moloneux said it himself that the co-op will be there from launch. He also showed that, you will see other players on your friends list as orbs as you play the game, and all you do is simply talk to them or whatever, and when they confirm boom, they are right there in your world, no loading times at all.

I think they've taken that back and said that they've included Co-op during launch.
