I've been hearing that it is considerably unlikely for even an abusive, trash-talking and cheating gamer to be suspended or banned from Xbox Live. There were reports (I forget where) that some player killed 1,308 teammates in player and ranked Call of Duty 3 matches over the course of three weeks, was 99% avoided and still wasn't suspended from live. Another person executed the remote chainsaw glitch roughly 30 times a day and the crabwalk nearly 70 in Gears of War RANKED matches, and even asked people to file complaints against him - he still wasn't suspended from live. So really, does filing a complaint even do anything?

probably no one filed a complaint. Filing a complaint is different from avoiding someone.

it is VERY possible to be banned, but not for the things you referring to. go try harassing some of the female players, or makings extremly racist remarks. sexual harrassment is always a good way to get yourself banned as well.

Players with a large amount of bad ratings are taken under a closer look by Microsoft. Makes sens, if you owned a network and a single person was causing chaos and complaints from your costumers, wouldn't you ban him?

guess you havent heard how strong the MS banhammer is, lets just say they will ban you for thousands of years.SolidusSnak33
yea i know the halo 3 epsilon cheaters got banned till the day before the year 10000 i know mods on your 360 will get you banned, but that's automatic because there's a sensor built into the 360 to detect it (though some mods have gotten around it) my theory is that if you get a certain amount of complaints filed against you in a period ot time you get "flagged" which means a representative at M$ can watch you play whenever its over xbox live, and upon seeing any terms of service violations, take appropriate action if you were being a racist, you'd have to be reported a number of times first, and once you start making racial comments when you are being tracked the banhammer comes down

it is very very hard to get banned from Xbox Live for the reasons ur talkin about (glitchin and team killing). i think it would be a good idea to hand out suspensions to people who did that but getting banned through glitching and team killing is very hard.

if u totally violate the terms and agreements contract that u agreed to in order to sign up for Xbox Live then its very easy to get banned.

like if u modded ur 360 even just for looks and u get caught (mom sent it in on accident while u were in school or somethin crazy like that) u would get tracked or banned.

if u get caught playin games before they even come out like Halo 3 for instance a ban will be enforced.

if u get caught makin illegal copies of games or maybe even playin them (i'm not sure) then u'll get banned.

if u get caught hackin into or stealin other users accounts then u'd also get banned. those are the major ways of getting banned/suspended from Xbox Live but i'm sure there are plenty of other ways. to answer ur question YES it is possible to get banned from Xbox Live...
