Is It Just Me, or Has 2012 Been Crap for Gamers?

Halo 4 and Fall of Cybertron. That's all I need to keep my happy this year.

It hasn't been a great year for games compared to 2011 and I am so very okay with that.

I spend all available gaming time on The Witcher 2 and NHL 12 so I don't care that it's a down year.

The year is starting out quite slow, I'll agree, but the latter half looks chock full of good games.

It's been sucky.

There is 343's first real solo game, Halo 4 coming at the end of the year. we can play that until the end of 2013's big shooter. :P

2012 has been a poor year so far. At the rate it's going Max Payne 3 will be game of the year. The only game I wanted to play in 2012 is GTA V and it might not even come out until next year. GTAV is the only game that can save 2012.

Be patient. Borderlands 2, AC3, Ghost Recon, Halo 4, Dishonoured and I seem to be the only one hyped about the ne Resident Evil game. I'm still beating games from last year though...

The only game i'm majorly looking forward to this year is Dishonored.Not impressed with anything else i've played this year so far outside of Ghost Recon.

I liked the ended to mass effect 3. I despise ham-fisted endings which treat you like a moron, and it was not that.

No, 2012 has been pretty good for me. I'm extremely pleased with Mass Effect 3.

The really good stuff is backloaded to the last four months: Halo 4, CoD:BO2, Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, and RE6. Having BioShock Infinite pushed to next year was a crushing blow, though. But maybe Lollipop Chainsaw will surprise.

I agree that it has been bad so far, but in a month or two the good games will start coming out.

Plus, any year with a Halo is a good year for gaming my friend! :D

Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, Trials Evolution, Fez, The Witcher 2, Sine Mora, Street Fighter X Tekken, Minecraft 360, SSX, Kingdoms of Amalur, The Darkness 2, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, etc. are all out already. Still to come in 2012 is Halo 4, Black Ops 2, Assassins Creed 3, Darksiders 2, Resident Evil 6, Borderlands 2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Sleeping Dogs, Dishonored, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Far Cry 3, and Hitman: Absolution. Not too mention we still have E3 to look forward to in a week and a half. No, 2012 looks pretty great.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown comes out on XBLA in 11 days. I'm set for the entire year with that, and that even makes 2012 basically the best year in games EVER for me.

Aside from that though, for me 2012 had The Witcher 2, Dragon's Dogma, Soul Calibur 5, Skullgirls and more so far, and has Dead or Alive 5 and Halo 4 coming later. I can't be unhappy with this year on my 360.

I personally think this year has had some good releases. Then again I did buy plenty of last years games, but some games I do want yet from this year include Tales of Graces F, SSX, Silent Hill HD Collection, Halo 4 and some others I'm sure I can think of.

Maybe for you, but I've been living in the back library. I mean, there are a ton of pretty good game from ~3 years back, that game stores are practically giving away. And while gamers with only one system might be disappointed, there are plenty of games for my systems to keep me occupied (Moreso than it should).

I've really enjoyed Max Payne 3 and Prototype 2 from this year, but I agree this year isn't really a very innovative one with most games being sequels.

The only games I'm interested in that will be arriving later this year is AC3 and Halo 4 (thanks to the Tomb Raider and Bioshock delays)

But I'll see how E3 goes. I don't think gamers should complain. If you really feel like blowing your cash then there are plenty of games in Xbox's current library.

Lets see: Borderlands 2 in september, Resident Evil 6 on October 2nd, some ppl like Halo with the 4th coming Nov 6th then you have Assassin's Creed 3 on halloween, Black Ops 2 Nov, Ghost recon out now, Tropico 4 out now just to name a few.

Theres a been 395 games there abouts for 360, i got 80+ of them, the rest are rubbish or im just not interested.

Plus, any year with a Halo is a good year for gaming my friend! :D

KoA:R is the best of the 3 - flat out AWESOME game.

ME3 was ok. too much planet scanning and the worst ending of all time ruined the entire franchises replayability

Diablo launch was a disaster but they are showing record breaking sales figures. - looks very promising

max payne 3 is too short to be considered a good game - a total ripoff.

ssx sinkholes sunk that game right from the start. that and all the STUPID day one DLC.

prototype is average at best

everything else sucked.
