Is it just me that thinks Left 4 Dead is a terrible game?

Is it just me or is there anyone else out there that thought Left 4 Dead was straight garbage? How did this win game of the year by anyones standards?

LOVE IT.

I play it on PC, but man, first time I played my heart was going. Playing with friends is just good fun. I think it's one of those games you play a few times a month just to relive the rush.

i hear what your sayin. im not completely on the same boat as you tho. I dont consider Left 4 Dead a "terrible" game by any means. but i also dont think it was a "game of the year" experience either. it was a decent to pretty good game in my opinion. not spectacular tho.

I play it on the PC, same will happen with L4D2. Some games just need to be played on a certain platform.

it's nowhere near terrible, but i think it's only slightly above average. it probably got good reviews because of the valve badge. it's fun 2 play on split-screen though. i was playing at my friends hse, both of us were attacked by hordes of zombies, then we started shouting around, suddenly his mom came 2 tell us 2 lower our volumes.

It's not "terrible," but I could go the rest of my life without playing it and be pretty happy about my decision....

If you play it with friends it's loads of fun.

It's a terrible game to play alone. Way too short.

But it's huge amounts of awesome IF you play with the right kind of people. Play it with friends, not strangers, and as long as everybody has a sense of humor they'll frackin' love it and have a blast. If you take it too seriously though, then yeah...it's gonna suck for you 'cause it's about fun not hardcore-gamer-pwn-points.

I thought it was only slightly above average. It was short, there are only a handful of weapons, and I don't think it looks that great either. I was disappointed with it.

I think that this game should have been released last gen, because it just doesn't seem like xbox 360 material to me, I just get bored quick when I played it. Also its only 'playable' when you're online or with friends over which is kind of a waste of money when you think about it because people cant be over your house like anytime you want them to.

Yeah it was ok, not one of the best games i have played. It is better with friends. Not really looking forward to L4D 2.

I didn't think it was garbage, but it certainy wasn't worth 60 bucks the first time I played it. Actually returned it with a week for a full refund. But I picked it up again for 20 bucks and I love it, and now can't wait for L4D2.

I think it's terrible. I kept on hearing loads of good stuff about it but when I played it - bull****!

It has no proper storyline, is completely repetitive and not very scary.

I love L4D...but i can see why people might not like it.

This game is based around teamwork, doesn't matter if you are playing with friends or not... if you cant play as a team you are going to get owned, over and over agian.

I found the Xbox Live portion of the game to be extremely fun. I didn't really get into the game until a few months after the release, and it is so much more fun when you have good team mates and you get good at the game. Definitely a winner for co op with your friends.

is just counter strike with zombies , this mod could be included in the oragen box

It's a lot of fun when playing with friends (actual people in the same room as you).

Yep, just you. L4D is a phenomenal game.

I just picked up the GOTY edition and I have to say I was a little dissipointed. I was expecting so much more from it. Its an alright game but not one of my favorites by far. I'm just glad I didnt pick it up for $60 and waited untill the price drop. And now I know I wont bother with the 2nd one.

I thought this game was pretty good, not game of the year standard, but really fun to play, esp. with friends. It was a little different from other zombie games.

L4D = extremely original and addictive game. Maybe because you suck at it, that's why the game is terrible for you.

No I think its really good, has its moments of frustration. But generally a great game.

I really think this game is only as fun as the people you play it w/. On my own I appreciate the AI director giving me a varied experience most of the time. W/ boring people the game doesn't get much better. If you play w/ a bunch of fun people though the game is a riot, and it has hours of group replay value since each time through is fairly unique.

IMO it's great, shame you don't like it though.

I didn't like it at all. Was fun for the first few hours until you realized it was the same maps and same stuff over and over again. I realize each playthrough is "different" but it's the same basic principle. It just grew horribly boring for me.
