is it me or does gta 4 have annoying laggy slowdowns?

I own it on Ps3

And there are some very annoying laggy slowdowns,

Like for example if you're in a gunfight or with a lot of cops around you and you turn the camera around, it lags a little. And if you're driving fast sometimes it feels laggy

I didnt notice during the first like 10 hours cause i was too amazed by it, but now i seem to get really pissed off by it.

Its not as smooth as i would like it to be.

Any solutions?

I havent noticed it with gunfights on the 360 version but sometime when im driving fast the environments take longer than they should to load.
