The specific engine can take a lot of tinkering, aka "updating"".Vampire the Masquerade:Bloodlines was created with a version of this engine and Left 4 Dead was bases on it also.Graphics aren't everything, I think this is gonna be a great title.Good looks help sales though...

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic also uses the Source Engine. Not sure how accurate the Wiki page is for the Source Engine, but I'd read up on it so you can see that it's a really well built engine. Very flexible.
you're siked for it? psyched you mean?
anyways, it's really not a game designed to be a graphical showcase. It's on the source engine as well like everyone's been saying, and from videos it looks like it runs well and there are few glitches, not bad I gotta say.
It uses Source graphics. Source grahpics are good, just not Call Of Duty 4. Anyways, its trailers. I'm sure they are better on a super big HD tv.JohnnySN1P3R
Left 4 Dead's graphics >>>>>>>> Call of Duty 4. By a mile.

Are you serious?
It's funny, now people don't care about graphics, but when Halo 3 was coming out, it was "ZOMG TEH GRAPHIX R TEH SUK!", true, but if you look it like people here with regards to the source engine, the Halo engine was 6 years old at the time, but updated, even if all the textures were painstakingly created by hand (or tablet w/e) it's still a pretty amazing achievement, people disregarded it, and still do. But it didn't stop it from being fun.
I'm just comparing the past to now and how things have changed, (for good I hope), how people used to condemn games because of their graphics and not how they played. But yeah you can never rid the world of a-holes.
BTW, I didn't think COD4 graphics were too amazing either, but I do about Gears 2.
