i mean here tonyhawk spend like 7 years tring to get a good skate boarding game an skate come out on its first try an snatches all the attetion away from th.....is there any th fans that aretransfering to skate? an if so why
It takes a while to get used to using the controls and stuff and sometimes getting the angle right to grind is a pain but I really like this game. Once you get used to the controls, they work pretty well.

Ive been a TH fan ever since i played the TH1 Demo on ps1 but Skate is just so good you feel in control of everything im sorry but i feel im converted i cant go back to a th game after this :)
Tony Hawk Pro skater through UNderground 1 were all very good games. After that they got stale. You are acting like there has never been a good tony hawk game. And yes i like skate, but i don't really know if it warrents a purchase yet. Definately not 60$ but maybe after a price drop. It is a fun game.

no, i'm saying that tony hawk games used to be good and got stale. Countering your statement that there has yet to be a good TH game. The blurb at the end was just my thoughts on skate. Maybe the new paragraphing will help you.
I think the flick it controls are awesome. They respond perfect for me. Is your controller broken or something? Or maybe your thumb just sucks at life and you can't do it correctly. I think the game is amazing.

Are you talking to me? Because if so the answer is because i grew up with TH but as i already stated i haven't liked one since the origanal Underground. I like skate better than the newer TH games. It is a breath of fresh air.

like he said, i grew up with TH games, own them all...and Im extremely fluent with the controls and good at it, second nature....so, thats why i liked it more, sure this new game is more realistic and more of a simulation,, and its funn, but I prefer unrealism and pulling huge combos

SKATE. is amazing. i don't know what it is. maybe because i am a skater, ive been to the skatepark, and the tricks in SKATE are tricks that i have seen in real life. landing a trick in SKATE is 100x more satisfying, and realistic. i just really appreciate it cuz im a skater i guess. never going back to TONY HAWK
The original Tony Hawk game for the PS1 was so good, that it was the first gamethat I bought before I bought the console itself. That game was amazing.

How is it copying? TH had nail the trick in P8 so its commen sense they would add others options like nail the manual and grab. Please dont talk like a fanboy. My thought on skate is I dont like it. I never like EA fight night controls which is what skate basically has.

Actually, TH already had nail the trick in their last game so they aren't the ones whos copying, but on a side note everything is copying something else.
I'm glad Skate is being released, because to be quite honest, I'm sick of Tony Hawk's series. After THPS 4, the series went downhill in my opinion. I see Skate as a skating simulator, the first of its kind. Tony Hawk's games, on the other hand, I see as an arcade button masher. Think of Skate as being Forza, and THPG as being Need for Speed.

no, skate is not rediculous and yes, the flickit controls DO always respond... pretty much perfectly... so yeah im switching over, TH can suck it and im not buyin his new game either proving grounds or whatever. they totally stole the flickit controls from skate and but them in their game... thats so lame.

But doing crazy combos for what 8-9 years has really gotten dull and if they change to a realistic gameplay everyone will just say they copied Skate. I think Neversoft obviously need to stick with the arcade feel as it's the craziness that alot of people like but mix it up abit and not just have to do loads of conbos or collect floating letters and you can cheat the high scores on vert contests by just doing manual tricks as they're worth more.

I had a play on the demo and found it rather refreshing. Nice and grounded - not choked with in-game ads like some titles.
