I wouldn't risk it, but I don't rly see the harm unless u flip it up vertical or something while its being moved

If the xbox is OFF, it doesn't make a difference, you can toss it in the air and it can't scratch a disc that's not moving.

no but watch out the next time your turn it on, it might scratch then if the disc is stuck.

Wrong. You never move it unless you take the disc out. The disc only "rests" in place. Nothing is holding it. If you were to turn it upside-down, the disc will slip out of alignment. (If you already did it, and the disc didn't scratch or break, then you got lucky.)

At football camp my friends 360 got tipped from vertical to a 45 against a sink when a kid tripped a cord. The disk didn't even scratch. I do know a guy who ruined his gears going from vertical to horizontal while it was running though.

Listen to this guy! He is right. Bottom line. Never leave a disc in the console, whether you're going to move it or not. I don't even see the reason why, if you're going to turn it off, you would leave the game inside. If you want quick access to the game when you turn it on, you can set your system settings to play the disc in the drive on startup within the system blade of the dashboard. Please take heed to this warning and prevent your console from sufferring a drive/lens failure!

And if it's out of alignment next time you turn on your system, expect the disc to get damaged.

Seriously it's safe. I do it all the time when I take mine to friends' houses. However, I always have it in a position where it doesn't move terribly much so I assume as long as you don't throw it around like a madman you should be fine.

If it's off, you have nothing to worry about. Speaking from personal experience. Just don't play catch with it or needlessly jossle it.And in response to an earlier post, I ALWAYS leave a disc in there, and I've never had a problem in any way shape or form.

the best thing would be is to take out the disk then put it back in but to really answer your question yes it is safe to move your xbox while it has a disk in it while its off.

It says in the manual that you shouldn't move it when it's on OR off with a disc inside.
