If I buy one of this and then connect the red and white connectors of the component cable to that, and then send it via a cable to an "aux in" thing in my 5.1 "subwooffer" on my old creative 5.1 system? Is it possible? Thanks

The thing is this 5.1 creative system doesnt have optical input so I was think in doing it like that. But I dont know if I will have 5.1 sound with that. Will I? If i select dolby pro logic II in the xbox 360 settings will all speakers work? Thanks

It should work, before i got my new TV i was using my PC monitor for my xbox, I had to buy one of them adapters to plug into my
Logic 3 "soundstation" (speakers + sub that i got for my ps2 ages ago lol)

The way it was set up was a 3.5mm lead ran from the PC into the sub, then plug the adapter into the 3.5mm jack for the speakers and it worked

Hope this helps.

It won't be real 5.1, as thats just a stereo connector. What will happen is, depending on your system, you will get virtual 5.1. The system will use crossovers to send the lower signals to the sub, the midrange vocals to the center, and right and left to those, there will be no difference between rear right and front right though.

It will work, its just wont be dolby digital. But it is better then having just a 3 channel system

Go for it
