I'm going on a trip and I need a screen to play on... I also have a Toshiba laptop. Could I use it as a screen?

Well if you have video in port on the laptop which is unlikly u can buy a laptop capture card, most of them now are usb and then the 36o plugs into the usb stick. Ofcourse it won't be the best resolution 640x320 most liky depending on the usb capture card.

Why don't you just buy a cheap little tv from wal-mart? Maybe you can hook it up to a little portable dvd player.

I really wish you could do it, but almost ALL notebooks don't have a video in. I have a Asus G1s notebook (very powerful DX10) notebook and I tried, but no luck. You can probably buy a card but I'm sure you won't get the "HD" res.

What expansion slot does your laptop have? If it is an older laptop, probably PCMCIA, but almost all newer laptop have ExpressCard slots. Go to newegg.com and search.

im not familiar with laptop res but shouldnt they be about same as pc... i mean my crappy geforce 6200 goes to 1280x 1024 wich is technicaly hd... so i would assume that a laptop of decent power could handle that res. the real easy thing to do is get a cheap lcd monitor and a hdmi to dvi thingy... and go from there...

In short... No... Since most laptops support output functions and so far none I've seen has input. I'm sure there are some laptops out there that do, but very rare... Sure there are alternatives such as external capture cards, but the delay caused would get to the point that it would actually effect your gameplay IMO.

I also suggest you get a decent LCD screen, all you need is to buy a 360 VGA cable and get some external speakers (since most LCDs dont have built in speakers). The ones used here in Japan are usually the IO-data screens, since they are tested with 360 for compatibility.

This is true, most new laptops, including mine, have 1280x800 Resolution screens which is HD, that is not the problem. The problem is the lack of an HD video in. The only way to do this is with a capture card. I have one, but I cannot use it for this purpose since it has a .5 second delay, and even if I had one with no delay(they do exist) It only has RCA and S-Video inputs, so it won't go any higher than 480i, and I haven't seen any that do better than that. So you hsve two options: Pay $65-150 for a decent capture card and play in SD on your laptop screen, or pay $100-200 on a Monitor and cables to hook it up to your 360 and play in HD.

If your laptop has a built in tuner card for watching and recording tv, (which was actually an option on my dell laptop, but I ended up not adding it on) then it would be possible to play the xbox, but only through 480i and im sure the picture would be really distorted.
