My xbox360 is new i got it couple weeks ago and i was playing call of duty today, i hit the xbox guide button, navigate through my messages, friends etc...i exit out by pressing B and it locks up dosent repond, i had to restart the system. does dis happen quite often with any new/old 360?

It shouldn't....looks like you may have a defective system.
ive noticed that sometimes it will appear to "freeze" if your net drops out while it sorts out whether you still connected to live or not, then finally comes good.
Yeah mine freezes but I'v figured out that ussally it only happens when I get dissconnected from XBL. Since I have wireless it sometimes happens when I use my cordless phone or something that messes up the signal.
I've noticed since about the last 2,3 months mine will randomly freeze for no specific reason or g ame. I've had mine for a year and change and have had no problems till recently. Maybe it's a conspiracy to get us to buy the Elite.. haha.. Fortunatly I've not had a lockup right after completing a dffucult stage on a game before it saves the progress, that would piss me the #$% off. I know it's gonna happen eventually though...

But I've always related freezing systems with scratched disks, or specific games that lock up in the same place all the time (Example: Madden 06 would lock up here and there when I first go the system but not anyother game). Never really thought of it as a system thing.
