that the xbox 360 eats the disks and scratches them if the console is positioned verticle. because i would like to purchase the inec fan stand with glow around it but i am scared that the console is going to damage the disks because it is verticle. does anyone know about this.? aswell does the intec fan stand with the glow really work good.

ps: if i leave my console horizontal what would be a good solution to keep the console raised a bit off the table i have that would still give it support so it doesn't fall or damage the system in any way.!

Technically it isn't good to put aything that reads a disk (especially for consoles) verticle becuase it is more liable to scratch disks. Microsoft themselves say that if you jump on the ground or move the console whilst a disk is in it and it is playing then you are responsible for any scratchage or breakage done to the disk in it. As for how to keep it up verticle so that this is less likely to occur, i would say to use a good firm stand that will hold it inplace but to still be extra carefull and paranoid of anyone being around it when it's in that position (so that they dont accidently knock it over).

Yes, everything you have heard is absolutely true.  Scientists have shown that the X-Box 360, when vertical, develops a chemical imbalance that causes it to involuntarily devour any contents located within its disk drive.  This chemical imbalance can be most easily rectified by purchasing 1 (one) Nintendo Wii from your local electronics store.  Do not operate heavy machinery after purchasing the aforementioned, side effects include spontaneous elation as well as chronic euphoria.

I have had my 360 a few months longer than my friend, and he has had to send his in twice. Yes, in one year. The only difference is he likes his vertical, and I keep mine horizontal...

Is that proof enough?

All 360 cooling fans are useless. They are powered by the 360, which puts more strain on its power supply and actually makes it heat up more. Thus, Microsoft will void your warranty if you use one. And trust me, they will know. Don't waste your money - just keep your 360 in a well-ventillated area and free of dust and it will be fine. The 360 only scratches discs if you move it while a game is inside and the machine is running. Having it in the vertical position won't make any difference as such, except that it is much more likely to fall over and scratch your disc on the way down.

it voids your warranty regardless of where it plugs in, you can call Microsoft and verify that if you wish.....don't worry I'll wait

what are you talking about? The nyko intecoller mooches off the 360's power supply basically chocking it to death until it dies. Also microsoft knows if you use it since it leaves marks on your 360>

If you move the console around yes it does cause disc scratches but it's still risky to make it stand vertical because I heard that it causes games to freeze more often.

And also quick tip for you typing in caps does'nt make you any cooler on these forums it just makes you soung ignorant.
