If you put your machine vertically and kick it over, it can scratch through the disc.

really? You didn't know? Well they melt and get scratched easily. dont worry about it being vertical unless you are clumsy or others enter. just dont knock it over. To save a discs life before you start playing it; install it to your HDD. Installing it allows you to play longer and cause a lot less wear and tear. When your box is making loud run noises like from a loud hum to a low roar it is time for a rest or your disc will start to poop out. If that doesn't go first, you could RED RING, and that happens A LOT. When your 360 starts to freeze it is almost a sure sign of Red Ring of Death.

If you move the 360 around while a game is running, then yeah it can damage the disk.

Yes it can. Look man, do what the rest of the world is doing. Toss that trash out the window and get yourself the superior console.

No you don't need to move the tray for the games to get scratched, but I had the hitachi drive so I dunno.

My previous xbox 360 (sold over a year ago) scratched a disc on its own without any knocks etc (the large circle scratch), so yes the xbox has been known to scratch discs :(

Well I was browsing the 360 forum and I just so happened to have an answer to his question via a video and decided to give my opinion on the matter. And besides, am I wrong?

Even without having it stand vertical and being moved about it can still scratch the disc. Me and a friend had his console lying horizontal and we heard this "nails on chalkboard" noise, we took the disc out and it was ruined. Microsoft makes one hell of a **** console.

any system can scratch/break the games if you try to damage them. Moving your 360 while the disc is spinning.... throwing the N64 against a wall while the cartidge is in it. So if you plan on trying to damage your discs then yes the 360 can do that...

Except a Gamecube. That thing was a mini tank. I tripped one day and kicked it and the little sucker went flying against a nearby wall . It was on and had a game in it and it kept right on going. I set it upright and never had a problem with it.

Looks like the moderators agreed that you were trolling. Going on a 360 board and saying the 360 sucks and he should buy something else is indeed trolling. That garbage belongs on the system wars board.

Don't throw your 360 across the room while you're playing a game.

Best thing G4 did was smashing the systems to bits (the newer one with current gen systems was just dumb).... back when G4 actually meant Tv for gamers... I still don't understand why they haven't changed their names because Spike is as much if not more about video games then they are.... On the disc getting scratched. I know so many people that scratch their own discs by not putting them back in their cases. They just take them out and stack them on each other and scratch them like crazy. But like i said any system can scratch games. That doesn't mean they will stop working, but they will be scratched.

that is not trolling. trolling is where you post to support something on a forum where it does not belong. basically, this in the quotes is trolling.
