I have both and I am glad because this is a good year for gaming and I am prepared... I recommend you get both soon... maybe last year wasn't a good year for both, but this year there are many AAA titles being released on both consoles...
whether its "worth" owning both is up to you...if you play A LOT of games then its obviously good to own all 3 consoles...but if you play 1 or 2 games a month, i would just hold on to one.
For 2007, Xbox 360 was really the only one you needed.
For 2008, the games that will truly blow you away seem to be PS3 exclusives. FF13 and Versus...MGS4...Tekken 6. Those are the only games that have my pissing myself wet waiting for them. 360 just isn't doing it so much anymore, it has over done itself with the shooter games and a huge lack of good action adventure games; and the action adventure games it does have...kinda blow

I agree that PS3 has some games coming that will blow you away, definatly MGS4. I just got the first one in the mail so Ill play that later, thank God for eBay! But I dont think the 360 has over-done itself with shooters, but I love them so I dont think Ill ever get annoyed by them. I would like to see more variety this day, but if they keep bringing awesome shooters (CoD4, Vegas 2) then Ill be fine.

I already have a 360 and my son has a Wii, I hardly ever play the Wii (just nothing much interests me) and I can hardly keep my son off the 360 (SSBB will probably change that though for both of us).

WEll friend check it out, I owned both. Sold the ps3 cuz I like the game choices of xbox 360 but went back to a ps3 because of the media value of it. HD DVD is doomed and blue ray is winning. The media part of the ps3 is amazing and easier to deal with than the 360. The ps3 also is starting to get the better of the games xbox is getting aka cod4 and half life2. I play more solid games on pc more than any other system. go for both but in the end ps3 cuz of its less maintenance and no red ring is my overall pic for a console. Good luck!

I should remind everyone on this board that people who can't afford both systems usually are either
A) Fanboys and have to negatively criticise what they don't have or
B) The ones who choose to buy one over the other and don't negatively critcise the other system do so because one system has the games they want most.

None of those PS3 exclusives excite me, so I'll stick with my 360

Ok, ok you got me I'll be getting it for MGS 4 an Resistance 2 and be looking forward to FF XIII (wishful thinking that it hits by Christmas prompted me to include it). Also I keep thinking MGS 4 will get pushed back but maybe not. It's totally worth it especially in the long run. With some really cool exclusives and as a blu ray player, the ps3 will be really handy for an entertainment room.
I had all 3 consoles, my Wii got the least amount of playtime so I gave it to my 8 year old brother.. However I intend to keep both my 360 and PS3 because they just work well side by side, they both have pro's and con's but so does everything in our wonderful world. If you can afford it, yes get both, if you can only afford one, then get which you want more.
i would say get both. even if u don't play ur ps3 u get blueray...just hope that a blueray players will win the run. u get exclusives to both ps3, and 360. lets say ur 360 dies (rrod) u get to play ur ps3
A rule I use is if you can play 2 games on one console but only one on the other. Well you get it. If you find the titles for both interesting then yes go for it.
i have both and am happy with them. I got a PS3 after the news about HD DVD. Which is unfortunate because i still prefer HD DVD over blu-ray. Anyways if you do end up getting a PS3 make sure you get Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Amazing game!
