Yo! I'm a bit concerned about this thing... I'm not a Halo fanboy or anything, and I don't have XBL, but I'm a huge fan of the Halo-series. Mainly because the atmosphere and the storyline are just so awesome. And everything about those games is IMO just so great. I love COD and R6V too, but you know, when I play only the games where everythings so realistic and the enemies and you die from like 3 bullets, I need a change.

When I wanna relax, dive deep in a games story, just run'n'gun and have fun and I wanna have something different and different weapons and enemies....

Then... Halo comes in. It fills all my needs of those that I mentioned. It just feels so great. And you know, Master Chief kicks butt!! And arbiter too :P ...and, Sgt. Johnson :P

So, why do everyone say that Halo sucks and call the Halo-lovers with names and call them stupid fanboys and stuff. I am afraid to tell people that I love Halo, because I think that everyone will then just... abandon me...

PLEASE don't post any negative comments for Halo in this thread. AND, remember, I don't play it in multiplayer(yet, cuz I don't have live) so don't just answer like "Halo sucks bcuz of the 12year old stupid kidz..."

Now we're talking about the SP experience.

It's not wrong to like Halo but it is wrong to be diluded to the point that you won't admit that there are several better games out there.

Hey, its not wrong to love Halo at all! It is a great series, probably one of my top favourite franchises actually. I've been a fan of the developer Bungie since the days of Marathon when they used to make games for Mac. The thing is though with any big series like Halo, there are gonna be some that love it, and some that hate it. It's the same with movies, I know people that hate Star Wars and James Bond for example. But loving a series is just fine, it doesn't mean your an idiot even if you go around collecting all the merchandising, replaying all the games so you know everything off by heart or writing loads of fanfics. OK, maybe that is a bit too far... but anyway, theres nothing wrong with loving Halo.

Oh, by the way... from the sound of it, you are actually a fanboy. But hey, that's something to be proud of!... maybe

It's not wrong to love Halo, but worrying so much about what other people think is pretty ridiculous.

Ignore the haters. They are just upset when people enjoy something, so they bash it to justify their jealousy. You have to play Halo Live. It's addicting.

Not really, there are seome many COD4 fanboys in my school. If you even really mention Halo around them, you get verbally bashed within seconds..

Oh by the way, if you really love Halo... Get Live. Honestly, if you've fallen in love just with the solo parts of the Halo games, playing online will be the equivalent for you of going to heaven or something.

And why are there several better games out there? Because you say so, or by popular opinion?? Thats the word right there.....OPINION, everyone is entitled to one and if his favorite is Halo, then so be it! My favorite is Bioshock. Are you going to tell me that it can't be because there are better games. It's all about personal likes/dislikes.

Okay, I try to answer you all.. Hmm at first...

Yes I know there are many even better games, and I love them all! I love R6V with my full heart, for example.

Then...

Thanks, I feel good when I realize that I love some game. :) And even better if it's a series of games. And no, I'm not a fanboy.
I am a FAN but not a FANBOY, and this is excactly what I meant!!! You started to call me fanboy right away. ;) You know, if I told you that I was a huge fan of... Half Life for example, you wouldn't call me a HL fanboy, but WHAT IS IT SO BAD ABOUT HALO THAT LOVING IT MAKES YOU A "FANBOY"? that's my point!!! You don't call other games' fans fanboys. That's weird I think.

And the last one that I remember...

Yeah I know it may sound ridiculous :( But you know, I'm young and it's important to me to be a part of the group! And if someone calls me a Halo-fanboy, then all the others think so too. That's why I'm so careful.

thanks! more answers?

hm.... about live, yes I will get live but when I do I'm more excited about R6V netplay :) and COD4. And R6V2 in the near future. But sure I'll play Halo online too, but not so much, cause Halo's online seems a bit too hectic. I've played Halo 1 online on PC and it's great fun but gets boring pretty fast. I really enjoy games like Rainbow Six and Call of Duty online more. :)

Oh and this one. All my copies are the basic versions, not any limited or legendary editions, I don't even know what they're called but anyway... And I don't care about halo-controllers or halo-console. And I'm not collecting any halo-stuff or anything. :)

Ahah chill man! But I agree, I am a huge fan of Halo as well, and have been playing it for a long time. If people feel the need to call you a "fanboy" and whatnot, let them. Why should you care what they think. Like an above post said, everyone has an oppinion. So you love Halo, and someone else loves COD. No one is right or wrong. Don't worry about what people think, you play as much Halo as you want.

Hm... this whole fan vs fanboy thing is interesting. I never thought of the term 'fanboy' as being particularly offensive or anything, just ah... stronger than the word fan.

I've called people Half-Life fanboys in the past.

And actually.. this is interesting, I like Halo and Half-Life quite a lot, and actually there are quite a few Halo lovers at my school and not many Half-Life lovers, and actually, I've had quite a lot of people criticising me for being a Half-Life fan!

So what I'm trying to say is this:I don't think theres anything about Halo that makes loving it less 'cool' than any other series. And besides, you shouldn't worry about what your friends or anyone else thinks. If you love it its absolutely fine!

of course not, everyone has their own taste. like if somebody hated me solely for the reason that i love cookies, well that would just be weird. same goes for a game, if you love it, that's cool, whatever makes you happy. but if you're a major fanboy then there's a problem, although there's nothing wrong with being a cookie fanboy. by the way.. i love cookiesss.

God this is a stupid thread. If you like a game, then like it. Just be prepared to fend off all the people who DON'T like it.

Or just don't associate with people who are stupid enough to pick a fight with you because you play a Halo.

His opinion might be that Halo is best game on the 360. It doesn't make him wrong and it doesn't make him right but its his opinion. IMO Halo 3 number 1 on my list. I play that game the most nowadays. Its all opinion. I hate it when you people say that one game is better than another. If people like other games like COD4 more than Halo then so be it. They are entitled to their opinion and entitled to love any game they want just like the TC and I are entitled to love any game that we want to love.

Well, OK, its interesting... But loads of other series' are like this. We've all heard of people called 'star wars fanboys' and like I mentioned I've even heard of 'half-life fanboys.' I think there might actually be a link with the actual sci-fi genre which is strange... maybe its because of sci-fi things stereotypically being 'geeky.' Thing is, Halo is better than that IMO.

But... there is Halo Wars isnt there? And some Halo thing Peter Jackson is supposedly working on along with a feature film (Im actually really scared if a movie does happen cos it will probably mess it up) But I absolutely agree, apart from the odd spin off, the main Halo series shouldn't be continued as I doubt it would do justice to the ending of Halo 3, which is good in that it ends on a sort-of cliffhanger (a good cliffhanger in that its the sort of one that works as it makes you think, like... say... the ending of the original Italian Job... Ok, that was a random example. Well, its better than the halo 2 cliffhanger anyway.)

Yeah I agree everyones allowed an opinion.

Wow, next thing you know we're gonna start talking about human rights and stuff:lol: Haha this actually reminds me of a discussion we had to have at school the other day, except that sucked because we weren't talking about video games or cookies.

I like cookies too.

Oh my god dudes... Should I make a new thread about cookies!? xD "Is it wrong to love cookies?"

Of course not. If you love something don't be ashamed of it. And if people "abandon" you then they weren't really your friends anyway. Just about everything has lovers, haters, and everyone in between.

It certainly isn't a bad thing to like certain games. That's what gaming is all about. Enjoy Halo and someday another game may capture the same spirit of Halo.

I think becuase people abandon the halo series is mostly because halo 3 was not a good finisher, it still was a great game but it was so hyped people were expecting much more than ever be created and bunjie rolled with that which i don't think was a good move, i mean they painted a pontiac halo and all of that museum "believe" stuff worried me because they took it big and serious so people were expecting the god of games and thats where the fanatics came from.

Your right, although I think Halo 3 was a good finisher, the insane amount of hype did mean that people were inevitably gonna be disappointed, as it was being hyped more than most blockbuster Hollywood movies were.
