My brother always says to never do it, and I never have.

Is he right, or is he full of crap like he usually is?

Well I would say that if you turn your system off with the cd inside it doesn't matter. Microsoft even gave you an option to turn auto-start cd on or off so that means it should be fine. I just take my disc out whenever I'm not playing a game and browsing the marketplace or playing arcade games. I'm not sure that once you exit a game that the cd stops spinning so i take it out.

Nothing is wrong with leaving the disk in of course when you forget the game is in the 360 thats when you have a problem.

I always leave my discs in the system, and I've seen no problems. By my logic, the discs are actually safer to be handled less. Just don't move the system with the disc inside.

Almost seems like it is bad, for me at least. For the times got the disc is dirty error, is after a time I left the disc in there from another time.

No. You can definitely leave games in the 360 and turn it off. I personally don't do it because I have a force of habit that makes me take out the disc, but I know I can leave them in there if I wanted to.

It is only bad if you MOVE the 360 with it inside. It's not minor damage either, I broke SAINTS ROW when I carried my 360 with it inside.

OMG why was such an old topic bumped? Ridiculous anyway why would Microsoft include an update that let's you stop the game from running automatically when the disc is left in the xbox if it would injure it?

I take mine out if I can be bothered but I normally leave them in. I left TDU in my 360 and carried it back to my house over 2 miles from a friends and it was ok.

Yeah, you want to avoid having a game in the console while it is on at all costs......:?
