I think I just about had it with NGII. Once I made it to the green tunnel (chapter 8?) I had enough. A game is not worth playing if you're going to get all worked up about it and possibly raise your blood pressure. Whatever.

Is Lost Odyssey as frustrating as NGII? I heard reports of it being hard.

its pretty boring in the begining it gets good though after about 2 or 3 hours but its not real hard (im at the end of disk 1)

i like your stance on the hard games but NG is notorious for being difficult ya kinda knew that going in i hope lol

LO has a few parts that can be hard , but it is nothing a little grinding can't solve if you get stuck . You shouldn't have any trouble with any of the main storyline parts either . At least nothing in the realm of how frustrating NG2 can be .

If you like Jrp's or rpg's in general , i don't think LO will be a bad choice for you .

It can be hard, here and there. The bosses in general, can be some-what challenging. Overall, it's a great game.

some of the few bosses and fights in the beginning will be pretty challenging, but once you're done with the first disc, the rest of the game is pretty easy. besides, the game really starts to get rolling by that time.

Most of the challenge comes from availability of party members. Outside of the first 3 bosses, and then one on disc 3, I can't say I've had a really hard time with the game. If I had to pick, I'd say moderate difficulty.

Lost Oddysey can be frustrating but for different reasons.

1) the game starts real slow

2) Random battles can get repetitive

3) Mini puzzles ARE annoying

4) Frequent load times with repetitve animation (when you pick up stuff, at the start of the battle, etc)

However, as my first xbox game I find it ok. I am on disc #2, and I am ready to move on to Mass Effect. Maybe I will finish it some day.

Lost Odyssey isn't really that hard, its just that main stream jrpg's have been far to casualised over the years, LO is a challenge as it should be :). If you want a game like NG though which is not as cheap you should try DMC4, the combat is more action based and less blocking, pesonally I think it is a far more enjoyable game (well compared to NG:Black, I have yet to play NG2 but I plan too).

Lost Odyssey isn't hard at all, you don't even have to grind for it to be not hard. A good strategy will get you through most fights, a lot of the extras are important though. Certain items make it worlds easier, and are pretty easy to get, using a guide is helpful to get them. Otherwise it's very easy, right now I'm at the very end, before the last dungeon, just doing some side quests. Loved it all the way through. It's actually pretty easy in a lot of parts, the first three bosses are a bit tricky, and the last couple too, but otherwise it was a piece of cake.

Some of the boss fights near the start throw people off a bit. I think the weird magic worm with the bugs in front of him got a few people. But aside from that, as long as your party is leveled up to the highest level possible at an area, and you've kept up to date with your skill learning you'll breeze through the boss battles.

What difficulty were you on, in NG2?

LO is only frustrating with the random battles. I wouldn't say it's really hard...It just gets tedious and repetitive. It's a good game though.

NG IS hard, though it isnt by any means frustrating, if you cant beat it, it means you suck.

Mau-- Path of the Warrior.

I don't necessary suck but my motive to play through it is not there. I'm just not feeling it like I did with the first one. NG2 annoyances are preventing me from accomplishing a purpose and fulfilling a desire-- thus equals frustrating in my book:) I'll check out LO. Thank you gamers for the 411.

LO is an RPG, it's not based on reflexes like NGII is. NGII reviews stated it would be hard. Doesn't NGII have a "Casual" setting? This is one of the reasons I haven't bothered with NGII. A lot of Japanese action games make them too hard & I wonder if it's just to slow you down from getting finished with it too quickly. I think you'll find a lot of enjoyment with LO. I plan on getting that myself.

So it doesn't have an easy or 'casual' setting? Even Ikaruga has an easy setting on it & it's one of the hardest games on XBL arcade.

Haven't played NGII but played LO. Epic game BTW.

LO seemed to get hard in stages. Rather than gradually getting harder it woudl go from everything being really easy to everything being really hard. Then you level up, learn how to fight them, and then it's really easy for a while. Not sure if I cared for that type of gameplay.
