I want to buy Mass Effect the only AAA game I miss in 2008 but I dont know or expect anything coming really soon to surpass it. Do yo think I should hold off for a better and newer game or just get mass effect?
i dont think so. i do not like when a rpg is a shooter for one. secondly you can pause during battle to make a move or order your squad mates. i rented it and i think its over rated. but its not **** its average
Mass Effect is better than any 2007 game even as far as single player goes. January doesn't have anything that comes close get it. It is an amazing game.
I would buy it myself being a fan of Bioware's games like KOTOR but whenever I think about buying an RPG I always chek out teh battle system first, and well... i dont know someone tell me its good :P
here's how it works: i was never really into RPG's, but when my mom (yes, my mother. say what you want, i got a free game) offered to buy it for me i said sure, why not? mass effect is really an incredible game, i'd put it more as a action adventure/shooter/rpg game than flat out RPG. buy it, you won't regret it.
If you like RPG's get it, if you like shooters get it, if you like good, indepth story lines get it. ive been playin for a week or so and i love it. i definately recommend it

No you don't. Like when you start out the game or whenever you can map your team's abilities. So they use their biotics at that time. Also I forget what button to press to move ya characters but you don't have to pause the game. It's a great game. I haven't had time to beat it since I beat it twice because I have mid - terms. But once their all done...I'll fire it up.
Do NOT get ME; at least rent it first!! Everyone is telling you that it is amazing - but they arent telling you WHY they think is so. ME has been over hyped, and honestly, and Bioware fan believes that ME is great just because it is made by BW. However, the battle system is a joke; I have never played a game in which the enemies were so anxious to run up to you and start shooting, 5 feet from your face. The MAKO drives horribly,and if you try to look upwhile driving it, all you get is a lovely view of the undercarriage (dont get me started about how it cant roll, and just bounces along on its nose if you jump too far in it). The vaunted conversation system is at best mediocre. I found that several of the little snippits of dialogue you choose from substantially misrepresent what your character actually says. The equipment storage system is a joke. All interiors look the same. If you are interested in Mass Effect, rent or borrow first. No one seems to be able to tell you why it is so good. Take a second and look at the user ratings that are in the 5-6-7s, and think about them. At the worst, youre out 8$ and a few hours.

boys and girls, in statistics, this is what we call an outlier.
Mass Effect is brilliant. If you like RPG's and were particularly fond of KotOR, it's a must-own. It may not be star wars-related, but it is still awesome.
