Well I've looked at some of the me2 videos and have thought damn I've really missed out on something special here, so I'd really like to be into the mass effect game before the new one comes out so I can continue with my char from the last game into my new me2.. I loved fallout 3 although didn't enjoy the shooting element to it, mass effect looks to be a solid shooter and imo can almost be mistaken for a third person shooter..
Anyway I just wanted to see if you guys think if mass effect is still graphically impressive by todays standard of games? Also is there any annoying elements in the game that ruin the experiance somewhat I should look out for when I get the game?

To answer your question the game does have a few minor problems.
Driving the Mako absolutley sucks. It sucks beyond sucking. This makes completing some side quests and planet exploring a chore rather than an adventure.
Many of the environments are very similar. They lack variety and make planet jumping uninspired.
Character progression is strictly quest based. Meaning the only way to make progress with the games NPCs (the ones you're traveling with) is to complete a mission in the main quest so more dialogue options can be opened.
To access the map you have to pause the game.
Inventory management is handled poorly. When you start your 2nd play through, this will be a major problem.
The games autosave doesn't autosave enough. This isn't a problem on the lower difficulties (you'll mow throw enemies) but it can be a problem on the higher difficulties. Sometimes your squad AI isn't the best and the brightest.
This can be overlooked though. The scope of Mass Effect is impressive. The Characters are inspiring and each have great back stories. Seth Green is in it. The Normandy rules. And the main story is an instant ****c.
