To Me all Natal is a ploy by microsoft to get people on their console. They are already copying nintendo as is with the avatars which are very Mii like and now with Natal it wont be soon until they release a "xbox fit" or "microsoft balance bored" or even "microsoft sports" all microsoft is doing with this to me is losing more of there hardcore fans while trying to get all the people who dont like games at all or people who want a new way of exercise

No they arent copying. If you watched the press conference they actually took a few jabs at nintendo saying things lkike " why use a remote and use pre rendered controls by shaking a remote when you could use no remote." so they're actually trying to re-define motion controlls completely by not having a remote period,

I hope M$ wants people to use their console.

The largest growth sector in gaming is physical fitness. It only makes sense that M$ would invest in this market.

Yes M$ is getting more people to play, however there is no indication that M$ has forgotten about the so-called 'hardcore' audience.

who really cares?

it doesn't matter who copies who, if it's a good product, and you have fun playing it, then buy it!

it's all about personal intrest. does it do it for you or not. im not going to thumb my nose at a product because i think it borrowed of an idea.

thats like saying did febreeze borrow off of airwick....

airwick was first, but febreeze came with a new idea of neutralizing odor.

buy what you want.

Copying the Wii? Not exactly. Copying the idea and sort've gimmick of the Wii? Maybe a little bit. But Project Natal already looks like it could blow the Wii out of the water now anyway. As for the Eye Toy, that was okay. But generally, the eye toy was sort've bad. Fun, but bad lol.

Did Chevy copy Ford by putting V8s in their cars? Who cares. As long as it works, and the graphics look good...wait what about the WII`s...aaahh never mind.

Why does it matter? And how on earth can you say Microsoft is losing hardcore fans after they showed games at E3 off like Metal Gear Solid Rising, Halo Reach, Left 4 Dead 2, Modern Warfeare 2 and Crackdown 2? We're still getting great game, Microsoft is just trying to expand the 360's audiance.

Spot on. Microsoft has made some very good changes and announcements and I hope that with this news, the 360 will start outselling the Wii some time soon. Unless it's already outselling it, in which case it's all good.

Natal looks really amazing but I just feel that now it has gone too far. I mean the Milo thing is cool and all but it's kind of pathetic to make a virtual friend, go out and meet some real people. Natal looks gimmicky with the crappy painting and the flailing around to play Richocet or whatever it's called.

I think that the Natal could have been packaged with a bunch of awesome minigames beacause honestly using that to play Skate and navigate the menus is stupid. Natal is bascially a wayyyyyyy better version of the Wii balance board but who cares? Cheers to innovation!

Natal is a copy of both the Eye Toy and the Wii-mote and according to this article the person who started it was just a MS fanboy who hacked the Wii.

no, i think it is more sony then anything. sony one has two wand things that the wii has. xbox and ps3 both have cameras for the motion controls. sony and microsoft both copied each other with a painting game.

yeah, they did. granted, both microsoft and sony are copying but hey, its the thing right now. i doubt ill get natal unless some killer app comes out for it. i mean, i already own wii. and that guy who demoed natal was a real ass. his jabs at nintendo were just nasty. im thinking to myself, "who are you guy? some pseudo-japanese jerk!"

First off, that's microsofts job. It's to get people to buy their products. Second, this isn't copying. It's brilliant.

Natal will flush the Wii down the drain, motion control was all they had, and now Microsoft and sony have it too, also Microsoft going a step foward and maybe ditching sony's idea before it was even released. But yeah as a hardcore gamer I don't like that game companies start worrying about the people who have never played a videogame in their life, I know is a market oportunity and that all of them only think on how much profit they could make, but HEY, you'll lose your all time userbase (Nintendo). Only thing I like about this is that nintendo took one right in the face

I guess the question we should be asking here, did Nintendo copy Microsoft? I meanMS did have motion sensing controls on windows games long long before the Wii came out. As far as copying the wii's mii's, there's an article out there on the world wide web from like 2004 were Peter Moore discusses the use of Avatars on there upcoming console (360) and he says something like "at this time I just don't think it's what gamers are looking for, we have thought about it but right now I think gamers are more interested in the games", he then goes on to explain how they had thought about doing something eirily similer to Sony's home.. yeah before Sony had discussed even bringing out the Home service. I'd suggest getting on google and finding it, it's a great and enlightning read.

No. Natal is not a ripoff of anything Nintendo. HOWEVER, The 360 avatars are a COMPLETE and SHAMEFUL ripoff of the Nintendo Miis. I mean, it's almost the same exact thing. And the NXE interface is a blatant ripoff of Apple's iTunes album cover interface. So yes, Microsoft is in the business of blatantly ripping off other peoples' ideas, but Natal is not exactly a ripoff.
