is microsoft going to make us scrap our old 360's?

i heard from a friend that in september microsoft is going to release an update and its not going to make the old style 360's work (something like that) and that microsoft will be sending us new 250gb slim 360's if we send in our old 360's HDD and all and they will send it back with all the data transfered over.

is this true, has microsoft said anything about scrapping the old 360's?

Yeah you should go and slap your friend in the face for suggesting such nonsense. Also im sure he was thinking of the update that just came out and MS will only send you a new 360 if your current 360 has problems with the update. Next to no consoles have had issues with this update.
