It is a pretty good game much improved over last years, and yes you can use the wheel and it's a lot more fun.
I always try to avoid threads about Nascar on here, because non-fans of the sport who do not see anything but "left turns", come on here and act extremely juvenile, when the TC wants a real answer. It's ridiculous. But anyway to answer your question yes I think you should get it if your a fan of the sport.
