storyline is very difficult to follow.. it's like sticking someone in the middle of a star wars movie, you never know what's really going on.
As far as the difficulty, it's easier in the sense that there are more save points, u regain health after each battle, and ur health is quite bigger than what you started with in the first NG. However, enemies still do tons of damage, and some of the regular enemies they throw at you seem much harder than what you fight against in the first. I'm not trying to spoil anything, but i feel that some of the mech-type of enemies are just as annoying as those ghost fish.
Play the game on path of the warrior and prepare to get your ass kicked. The level of diffuculty once you reach chapter five is ridculous and will completely own you like no other. I beat the first ninga gaiden on master ninga and now im on the tenth chapter in part two. Now as far as the story goes, you do not need to play the first to understand this one. I love the level of diffucultly in this game cause it make every kill more satisfiying. GO BUY THIS GAME NOW! ITS AWESOME!
We now refer to this genre as featuring 'twitch' gameplay because your reactions need to be as fast as an involuntary twitch. Indeed, if you have ever survived Ninja Gaiden or Ninja Gaiden Black (its harder cousin) then you'll know your survival relies on your ability to perform moves via a string of combos before your consciousness has time to consider them.
You can't just casually pick up a controller and expect to get far because the game's value is in you opening your mind to Zen-like reactions and to do that takes practice, dedication and skill.

I put the above quote in the sticky but I think it applies here too. It's taken from the NG2 review in 360gamer magazine.
