Is RFG the game Mercs 2 could have been?

I just got done playing Red Faction Guerilla, and it was awesome, if a little short. For the people who have the full game, how is it? Is it very long? Is the map fun to play around with? Is the combat really that satisfying? I'm just wondering about this game......

The game is very long if you do all the extra missions, there's like 104 missions not including the main story. The online is pretty solid too. And as we all know the destruction is superb.
