its good :) not the best game around but certainly enjoyable. My copy was for PC though so I am unsure how controller plays. Combat is a little stale, thats my main gripe with the game, apart from that its a good experience :) I'd say its not as accessible as oblivion, and not as good IMO. If you can get it cheap or can wait a few months, do that and you will be happy with your purchase.
Not sure on the 360 version but I tried the PC demo and was pleasanty surprised. The graphics were insane. I'll definitely be getting it but probably for the pc since it seems to have received much higher ratings for some reason.
Risen for the 360 is only out in Europe yet. As it is, it still needs some work. There should be a patch coming out at the end of this month, improving graphics, brightness settings and clearing up some glitches. I think that with the patch, it will be highly enjoyable.
Risen doesn't look that bad as much as it just doesn't look that good. But regardless, the 360 version isn't out yet, and I believe that if there lots of technical issues on the PC version then they will just get worse on the 360.
I have the PC version. It is a great game, beautiful world and some cool quests. I haven't had any technical problems with it, but apparently it is much much worst for 360
