Is rock band worth its price tag? I know it's 169.99, but is it really worth it?

Thanks

I think so. Considering it comes with the game, guitar, mic, and drums, I'd say it's a fair deal. It's really a question of whether it's worth it for you. If you have friends that you can get together with and rock out, then it's a must own. If you tend to play games solo, then it might not be worth the price tag. It does trump Guitar Hero 3 though.

Do you have friends who can come over and play frequently? Do you like playing drums? If you answer yes to either of these questions then it's definitely worth it. If you answered no to both then this is not the game for you, get Guitar Hero 3 instead.

If you have interest in all of the instruments then I assume it would be.

I really only care to use the guitar so I went ahead and bought Guitar Hero III, and what's good about that is you can use the wireless Les Paul guitar that comes with it for Rock Band. Now I'm just going to pick up the stand alone game and use my guitar. I have slight interest in using the drums, and if I do want them then I could pick them up at a later date.

If all you have interest in is the guitar, perhaps you should consider buying Guitar Hero III and the stand along game of Rock Band. But if you want to use all of the instruments, or you have a few friends that can play with you, then go for it.

It depends. Personally, a few things really upset me with Rockband, being an avid GH fan.

I've beat GH 1 2 3 on expert, GH3 is the only one I really get a kick out of now.
Rock Band's track lists are a little annoying, personaly, I like the artists...but the songs they chose just kinda blow. Non the less, the presentation is much better than GH. However, Rockband is also imo alot easier than GH3 on its hardest setting. It's not much of a challenge.

One thing that I want to kill the makers of rockband for though is making the drums/mic/guitar all hardwired to teh 360...makes for a disastrous set up not to mention you probably need to get a usb extender to plug in all 4 at once time and have to stand way to close to the tv. =

id give rockband a 8.0 on funness but combining it with the the annoyances...id drop it to a 7.5. gh3 imo is a better game than rockband. mic and drums dont really do as much for me as i thought they would have

I'm a casual fan of rhythm games, and I'm glad I picked it up. It's a little pricey, but you quickly forget about how much you just charged your credit card after singing a really questionable rendition of Radiohead's Creep.

i think there is no absolute answer to your question

I think if you have friends coming at your house a lot and are in to video games this game might really be all you will need for a long ttime therefore worth the purchase

If you play viodeo games alone then i do not think it would be as fun. I bought GHIII and plan on renting Rock BAnd even though i have to admit i am a sucker for new things and more then once i thought i would like to get it but

1 - I have 0 space in my apartment

2 - I usually play video games by my self or with my wife wich doesn;t like rithm games

3and last - If i get it my wife will divorce me.
