I noticed the price dropped down to 39.99, and I'm really into ninja games, and I have enjoyed past Tenchu games on the xbox.

So will I like this one? Is it worth 40 bucks? I saw it has online co op, too, which could be fun.

Dude, I honestly felt Tenchu Z is stuck in the past. The only realy improvement to the next gen console version is online co op. Even the graphics dont hint at next gen. The game still feels just as stiff as it did on PS1 years ago. But you should download the demo on XBL. That'll help you make your decision.

Download the demo, I played it and thought it was terrible. the controls were terrible and the combat system sucked. But try it out, maybe you will see something in it that I didn't.

I liked it enough to buy it, but I'm a fan of the series.

No! DO NOT GET IT! It is the worst Tenchu game I've ever played.

Best tenchu game up till now. Just being honest. Only akward thing is the way you have to block, then again, a true ninja doesn't need that too much... and also, you'll get the hang of it eventually. Maybe the whole 'hide in shadow'-system is a bit glitchy too, because the 'shadows' to hide in are like totally random (invisible). So except for a few minor flaws it's still the best tenchu game I think.

Saying it's as stiff as the first tenchu is pretty stupid really, I remember having analog controllers now. Maybe you should play the first tenchu again (it's nearly unplayable this day and age) and enjoy how you can't see an enemy until he's in front of you and the lack on backgrounds and basically... everything.

I'm not saying the Tenchu games are the best, and they could be a lot better. No excuses for taking out multiplayer (especially versus mode) after Wrath of Heaven or level editors after Tenchu 2, but when I look at this game and some of it's improvements over the past (such as consecutive or situational stealth kills, new ways to be detected such as smell) I see that someone out there is at least still trying to improve the genre.

On the other hand, Assassin's Creed is coming soon ^^.

I am not a big fan of the Tenchu series though I played it on PS1, PS2. Reading the reviews said it was very repetitive. Same mission objectives, almost same maps...never bothered on watching gameplay clips coz it really didn't matter. If you are a big fan though, better try it out first demo or rent...I on the other hand would probably wait for Ninja Gaiden 2.

no its not.i loved tenchu when it came out years ago on the old systems but this game is lame, download the demo you will see,you don't even have to kill anyone to get to the boss battles if you don't want to,you can just run right by the guards if you want and they will just run after you a little while than they forget that they even saw you.

Is it a good game? Well, yeah I'd say so. There's redeeming factors to it, like the customization, and group kills, and like the guy before me said the smell thing. On the other hand you have incredibly stupid AI that will see you when they shouldnt and ignore you when your presence is blatantly obvious, derivative levels, glitchy environments, collision detection problems. There's just a lot of things bogging this down and making it feel last gen.

Is it a good game? Yeah, but at the end of the day you simply cannot justify 60 dollars spent on it. If you find this later on in a bargin bin for like 15 - 20 bucks, that'll be a worthy investment.

The Tenchu series plateaued with the second game and has gone quickly downhill with each subsequent installment. If you're a fan of the same mechanics from Tenchu 1 still not working by this the fifth installment, you might like this game.

It's a fun underatted ninja game that will keep you occupied for a month our so as you go for the achievments. Online play is extremly fun but lags alot, you'll enjoy it.
