The only thing you are paying for , at least in comparison to the new HDMI compatible Pro is that it is black and the HDD is 6x bigger.

I am not sure if the Pros that have the HDMI ports actually come with the cables though, which in that case the elite you also get teh HDMI cables whereas the Pro does not.

If you compare that the 120GB HDD is $180 alone, and your only spending $100 extra, yes it is technically a good deal, but MS is still ripping us off.

But yea can someone confirm for me, and for narmi now then, if the Pros that have the HDMI outputs actually come with the cables or just have the capability to use the HDMI cables?

I don't think so. I've heard people say that it is quieter but i used my freinds and i didn't think the difference was noticible.

Internally Microsoft says they are the same, so really there is no reason for it to be quiter or anything, they are still running the same as the premiums, but with the bigger HDD prepackaged with it.

Again, anyone know if the Premiums with HDMI actually come WITH the cables like the Elite?

Its definately more quiet, there is a huge difference. But I do not know if it produces less head. I do know that the 120 gigs is definately worth it and seeing as how you like halo, you will want those extra gigs for new maps on halo 3 that will be occuring frequently Im sure. I think its worth is, but only because I only paid $50 for the upgrade. I say it makes the 360 experience less stressing as far as having to constantly conserve space.

the xbox premium only comes with the port, not the hdmi cable. If you have an hdtv, the eliteit is def worth it. the hdmi cable sells for $50 alone not to mention you get a better color and 100 extra gigs for the remaining $50.

keeping in mind that one could buy a 50 hdmi cord, or look online, I got one for my ps3 for 4.25.

However, the added 100 gigs is great especially with Halo3 maps coming down the pipes. A friend of mine has the prem, and whenever a new demo would come out he would have to delete stuff to make room for it. I decided that if I could wait an extra month, to save, then I would not have to worry about deleting old game saves, or demos.

Basically I just wanted to be future proof......until M$ busts out the 300gig hdd for $900 or whatever crazy price point they offer :)

think of it this way, if you bought a 350$ pro, and then bought the 120gig HDD later on you will have spent about 550$. Now if you buy the elite, which is 450$ and already includes the 120 HDD you just saved about 100$. plus the newer versions will be coming out with the "FALCON" chip just like the halo 3 360s, but not until about november or christmas. But it WILL be more efficient and run cooler, and have a quieter DVD drive and fan. THere'll also be another PRICE DROP come christmas. So it IS A GOOD DEAL

Make sure you get a 360 with the falcon chipset...... As for the Elite I say get it if........

1. You plan on using the X-Box marketplace and Windows Media Connect(streaming audio/video from a PC)to the fullest.. You're gonna need the space for all the stuff you are gonna accumulate on there(XBLA games, exclusive game demos, movies, ect.)

2. If you plan on buying a lot of games(360 and Original X-Box titles), then you're gonna need the storage space for all of your games.... Having 120GB is a plus when you own all of the Halo and Splinter Cell(for example)games.... You can keep your game info stored of that hard drive, no problems.......

Also, with the extra 120gigs of space you can download HD MOVIES from the market place. If you bought the HD DVD add on that'll cost you about 200 dollars not to mention that the cheapest HD DVD costs 25$. With the elite, you can buy 1600 MS points for 20$ which will buy you 6 full length HD movies from the marketplace, so you easily save over 300$ just by buying the elite right away with a bigger hardrive. So the elite is definitely a good deal

HDMI of course does make a difference, but it aint that big... To be honest i dont even think you would notice if you didnt know which was the elite. And the 120 gb memory... I am 99% sure that you can buy harddrives seperately at a lower price. And the black look, well you can just take a spray can :)

still 100 bucks can buy u alotta things, a ton of gum, 2 more games....ish, and a friend

i dont think youl need 100 more gigs unless you plan to download movies and tons of arcade games into your system, i know im not.

plus if u want that hdmi cable, they come alot cheaper then 50 bucks, if you need the sound seperator alotta tvs have audio out which will allow you to have sound to your sound system with out the need for a overpriced peice of plastic, alos u can crack off the plastic casing of the giant connector and itl fit in with your hdmi cable.

Get the Elite because it not only comes with the HDMI cable but it also comes with the dongle for the optical audio out IF your home theater setup is older like mine (no HDMI on my HT-amp/receiver). I run the HDMI to my TV and an optical audio out back to my receiver, and it does not produce theDolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack from the 360. It only produces the Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack when it is receiving the optical signal directly from the 360 dongle. It's nota TV problem since I get Dolby Digital 5.1 sound from over-the-air HDTV broadcasts, just not from the 360 signal coming back from the TV.

You realize you only rent those movies... you get them for 24 hours after you initially hit Play.. so although yea watching HD movies is great, your not really saving money seeing that you only get to watch it basically for a day then its unusable for you
