Is the Xbox 360 loud?

Hi guys. I have the Xbox Ellite and when I turn it on it sounds ok. But when I insert Gears of Wars or Halo 3 The xbox make a

little bit loud sounds. Is it normal or something wrong with my console?

Yes, it is very loud.

However, once you crank up your surround sound to the point where its soo loud its shaking the room....you hardly notice the 360 noise at all.

I've had 5, waiting on number 6 to come back, and they've all been loud in their own way, some more than others, my last one was VERY loud, I have a bose sound system and had to jack it up pretty high to drown it out.

Loud....no way. Alls I have to do it fire off a couple slugs with my 12 gauge with no ear plugs and once my ears hurt from the concussive blasts I can't hear a thing anymore. At that point the Xbox is totally managable.

Are you guys exaggerating or something? Every one I've ever heard (at least 8-10 different ones) were never loud like you guys are talking about. Do we have some tweakers in the building?

exactly, you can barely hear the Halo edition too.

it's funny that some are implying that different versions are louder than others. Newsflash everyone, all versions of the 360 contain the same stuff inside (aside from the elite's larger hdd).Qixote

I've had to train myself to ignore the loud disc-reading sounds emitting from my 360 - And trust me, this is no easy feat.Innovational

It was easy for me. But from thsi topic I get the feeling that I'm blessed with a relative silent 360 :)

It can get annoying if you have the IWHBYD skull on halo 3 and your trying to listen to the comments made by the marines but all you can hear is that ****** CHAINSAW SOUND!!
