Is the Xbox One worth it if you already own a PS4?

Hello guys, this is not a troll thread. I know it's hard for people in these forums to realise, but you can enjoy both consoles without hating one or the other. I prefer Playstation but I admit that the Xbox has a bunch of games that I enjoy.

Alan Wake, Dead Rising 3, Fable, Forza, Gears of War, Halo, Killer Instinct, Ori and The Blind Forest, Quantum Break, Rare Replay, Sunset Overdrive, Superhot are the games that I'm interested in. Plus there is the BC thing which I think is lovely and lets me play some gems that I missed from last gen including Dead Space, The Witcher 2 and Red Dead Redemption (yea I know I shouldn't have missed this last one).

And not only the past and present look bright. The future also looks promising with ReCore, Scalebound, State of Decay 2, Cuphead, Crackdown 3, Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3 and who knows what else.

I never had a Xbox in my life and I think I'm missing on terrific exclusive games. However this shall cost me a bunch of money that I could use on other things so I don't really know if I should buy a console only for the exclusive games. (I was already thinking on adquiring a Nintendo console so that's even more money to spend). So what do you guys say? Should I buy a XB1?

TL;DR: I'm not a fan of Xbox and I have 0 friends who play Xbox. However I am a huge fan of Microsoft exclusives. I'm gonna buy a Nintendo console soon and since I already have a PS4 do you think it's worth the hassle and the money?

It's well worth the money especially with some of the deals you find these days. If you have money to spare, go for it.

I own both, as a matter of fact, it's been a good couple of months I haven't "fired up" my PoS4, yes I did get UC4 at launch, it's still sealed, been busy playing ROTR, H5, GOW UE and Titanfall.

@Tqricardinho:

To give you the short version, yeah it is. Besides what you mentioned, Xbox Live Gold gives you plenty sweet deals and free games too like PS Plus. I was the fence before too since I already have a ps4 but in alot of ways, Xbox One is like having a 2nd one with different exclusives.

I always had a problem with hard drive space on ps4 and buying another is more expensive and tedious to install. While the Xbox One has cheaper hard drives and have ones that can install externally making it easier. It's worth having both and either way you're paying for online multiplayer.

@Tqricardinho: I think the answer depends on how capable your PC is. Though I would love to see another Xbox owner out there in the wild, it's really about what is best for you. If you're strictly a console gamer then yeah, I'd say you should grab an Xbox One S in the near future(all 3 HDD sizes will be out by Aug 23). Plus it looks like you've already got a great selection of games picked out for the future. As for the 0 friends issue, Xbox is bringing community building tools to the system. Those will help you find people to play games with. Also you can always add me to your friends as well(Suicide Snowman on Live, xsuicidesn0wmanx on PSN). Not sure how often we'd play games since I tend to lean towards the multiplats(I suck at Gears MP), but I really enjoy co-op games. Just beware that adding me comes with occasional spam messages for my website on your community feed.

Come black Friday if there are any insane deals on the Xone I'll be getting one just for Killer Instinct and Rare Replay.

There's enough great content on the Xbox One that's not on the PS4, if you're up to play it then yeah it's worth it. Though I know what it's like to have one prefered console, you don't play the others nearly as much. So, just depends on whether you're committed to your PS4 to the point you'll ignore the Xbox One or whether you'll dabble on it for those exclusives you can't play on your PS4. I'm the exact opposite on the Xbox One, I got a PS4 and almost never play it. I wouldn't say it's not worth it, I just rarely find the time to fire it up these days.

I debate this question all the time. I have both. I bought the Xbox one when it first came out and bought a ps4 later. After 6 months I sold the Xbox one. They just didn't have anything I wanted to play. I bought another xbox one when the Master Chief collection came out. I am a sucker for the Halo series. I keep going back and forth between the two for a main system as each does something the other doesn't. But honestly at this point I'm not sure it is worth it.

The only two games that I am really interested in right now for Xbox are Recore and Cuphead. I'm not sure about Crackdown 3. If they get back to the originals feel then yes. Never was a Gears fan and never will be. Forza feels like Sony's MLB the Show as it comes out every year and I buy them every year. But after playing a couple of races/games I start kicking myself as nothing really changes.

That is not to say the PS4 is that much better. Sony has a couple of games that I really want to play coming in the future but they don't come out until 2017, (except Last Guardian).

Something was certainly lost in this generation of gaming. At this point, I would probably stick with the PS4 and wait for the Scorpio. If you had a Xbox one and were asking about the PS4 I would have said wait for the Neo. The bonus of waiting for the Scorpio is that all the games that come out for Xbox One are supposed to work on the Scorpio.

I just hope next generation (Neo and Scorpio) fix the issues they have this go around.

It may be worth it, I admit I think Xbox 360 is awful, but the Xbox One has felt like an entirely different beast now that Xbox has shed it's don mattrick skin. I for the first time feel hopeful about Xbox, I kinda want one myself. I love playstation but at the end of the day I realize PS is getting to be a grandpa and seems only worthwhile for it's exclusives. I may aim to have all 3 consoles

I was in the same situation as you. I prefer the PS4 exclusives,so i bought a PS4 early in the generation. With some recent killer deals on Xbox One, and backwards compatibility, it made enough to pull the trigger and buy another console. So far, i really like it. I had a 360 for a month or two and hated it, and the XBOX One is the opposite. Nothing but positive thoughts on the new one. I think you'll find good value, with the large library. The only question that would hold things up, is if you have the extra money laying around to afford it.
