Is the xbox360 a rip off deal in all?

my freind was telling me that it was a rip offf because you have to pay all of these things:

1. the 360 itself(depending on wich 1 u get)- im getting the $350 1

2. online service- $100

3. xbox live time- 1 year($50)(unless u want to pay by month)

4. Halo 3(im geting)- $60

5. additional controller(for bro)- $50

total= $610

is this even worth all the money i will have to pay for it, in the end?

#2 is you ISP, if you want to play online with any console you have to pay the service fee....Do you have internet? If so, you shouldn't include that price....and there's no way its $100 monthly...thats a rip unless you're getting 100mb connection.

#3 unfortunately yes you have to pay $50 a year but it's well worth the price

#4 - you don't have to buy the game, but if you want it...well ya you have to pay for it...like any other console for the last 25 years

#5 same price for all new consoles...unless you get a 3rd party crappy version

In the end, you should look at spending practically the same amount for a 360 or PS3 (aside from the yearly $50, which Sony's is FREE but less structured)...

first of all i just got my new 360 pro the same one your looking at and its no ripoff. i bought bioshock and graw 2 used and it didnt cost me that much. and whoever told you that its 100 bucks for online is an idiot an is probably a ps3 fan.

Well, your friend is full of crap. All you need to pay for is X-box live. Thats the entire service right there. And for a year is like sixy or fifty bucks. Good deal. It's way better than the other competing console's online services.The Wii doesn't even provide a freakin headset. Comared to the competition, the 360 is well worth the change.

i've gotta say.. I was a playstation man through n through I had PS1 and 2 but when the next gen stuff started coming out and I played my mates 360 I was instantly hooked.. Its the best system i've ever bought. Awesome games, graphics and general system.

Between my bro and we have had 3 in my posession and none have broken down.

I think you probably mean lag which may be due to a lesser quality ISP.
