Is there a way i can make a gamertag before getting an xbox 360?

Yea i wont be buying one for awhile but i want to make a gamertag so no one takes it.  Can i make one?

Yeah, go to xbox.com and go the 360 part and create an account and then when you get a 360 you can upgrade it to gold.

I've created an account on Xbox Live by using Xbox.com.  However because my ISP is poor I cannot connect the console to Xbox Live.  Can I merge the account I created on Xbox.com with the offline profile I already have on my 360 (when I get around to changing ISP).

My name is:  Xx Holy Diver Xx

Now when i get my 360 i can get gold.  But how come there is no password.

It your email is the password the LIVE ID or whatever is the password when you connect it to the 360
