Is there a way I can set my status to offline on Xbox Live?

I was wonderif I can still be on xbox live, yet, set my status to offline. So, I will be online, yet to my friends list it will appear that I am offline? How do I do it if I can?

press the guide button, all the way to the right, go down to prefferences, it should pop open and there will be a part that says statuses or something.

I know what you want 2 do. Go to edit profile then go to privacy settings there is a option in there for online status block the status and there you go from now on when you sign on your friends will see it says offline for you until you decide to go into privacy settings to change it back.
